I was under the impression that a large number of Tulane students are not from the area. Plus Tulane has a pretty small student body. What is reasonable to expect? 2,000 students?

Hopefully a lot of Tulane alumni fly in for the game. The last couple of NOLA Bowls have been cool as one big Cajuns party but it'd be cool to have a little back and forth with another school.

I've graduated and moved on

I'll be there, the students won't because they'll probably be gone, lot of out of towners

future teams, students might stay to catch us in a bowl game because there will be institutional pride which students don't have

and yes, I do expect a football stadium to change that.

fricking makes me sick hearing students say go tigers or roll tide.

I'd say Tulane people are a bit Jewy and obnoxious but I don't know if I'd say white trash.

That's why I was an LSU fan when I spent my 27 year sentence in NOLA.

Yeah, I remember my girlfriend almost went to Tulane. We read through all the information and it said she couldn't have a car on campus for her freshman year.

I know Freshman cannot have a car since the parking on campus is very limited. They can bring one but cannot park anywhere on campus. Not sure if you have to wait to be a Junior though. A friend of my son is there now as a Freshman on the baseball team and told me that he loves it there but misses his car (brand new Camaro).

Exactly, and TUPD loves to write parking tickets.

What? Just park on the one of the side streets somewhere close by on Maple, Broadway, etc. No ticketing there bro. It was common for freshman to just leave them there until they really needed it...most of the other times they were walking around to get what they needed (e.g., class, beer runs, etc)

And Tulane last I went there had around 7600 undergrad students. About 13-15k total include grad if I recall correctly.

Here are the demographics for incoming freshman in 2013. As you can see, kids from the south make about a 1/3 and then the northeast figs make up another 1/3. Plenty of folks in the area that could make the trip driving.

Not being allowed to have a car on campus shouldn't stop people from parking on the streets near campus.

I can't wait for this game.

Not only that, Tulane closes their dorms during the break. so any out of town students who are actually still there wouldn't have a place to stay unless they lived off campus.

No, but it prevents them from going to a dome downtown
Street car, walking, bike...that stadium will be full

Tulane should bring about 20k to the 40k ULL fans, total of 60k my bet. I lot of locals that came out for ULL will be in Tulane's favor this time.

Tulane had around 12k butts the last 2 games so I imagine a once in a decade bowl will bring that up to 20k. Lot of buzz locally. I have ~4x as many people coming with me as normal (5--> 22). ULL is coming for the 3rd time in a row but I imagine attendance ~40k is fair.

60k Will be a great atmosphere.

The Hullabaloo made a joke blurb once in its "Harbinger Harry" feature. Harry wrote about a friend who was graduating and had to pay the city $1100 for four years worth of parking tickets. Harry felt sorry for his friend until his friend said it was cheaper than four years of parking passes

You know anyone else from the Landmass who's going? I would prefer to carpool and save on gas/parking if I can. I plan on going home after the game.
