If he's so bad at managing his emotions that he sucker punches a teammate and nearly kills him because he had a bad practice, he's not fit for society.

It’s not a great look that it took 2 hours to go to the ER, but I can see how that would happen. You have a training room and trainers watching him, it’s not like this happened on the street and you would call EMS right away.

Same. First they have to get players to explain what happened. After the initial happened. Then evaluate and try and decide how severe. And even then, the travel time to hospital. Did they take him? Did an ambulance have to come? I’m sure if them they needed to get vehicle and take him to it and load carefully. Plus traffic time to hospital. Plus unload and get him admitted.
The times they list are not unreasonable. They list time of assault and then time of admission. 20 minutes at least before staff can start the figure out process. 30 minutes to test and decide on severity. 15 more to get a vehicle and load him. 30 more to hospital in traffic. 10 more to unload and get admitted/registered. Thats 105 minutes which is 1 hr 45 minutes and matches times.
Give and take some time but they are making the gap seem like its a big deal when it seems pretty normal.

This is true, it’s not like ambulances arrive toss someone in and zoom off.
So you come in pull everyone away, you access him and have trainers that are running test, they see it’s not good so have to call for the ambulance which might be right by the facility but still then they have to come in and they are going to carefully load him. Also Dallas traffic can be insane so could see the route taking a while.
This seems more and more like lazy outrage journalism by someone that hasn’t had to deal with any actual medical emergency in their life. It’s not like TCU left the guy laying there knocked out on the floor.

Dykes has nothing to do with it though. Maybe a civil argument if it happened on the practice field and he wasn’t seen to have taken the injury serious enough, but it was in the locker room after practice. The coaches aren’t around at that point, it might as well happened off campus. And it’s not like the medical staff reports to coaches, they serve the athletic department. Maybe there’s an argument against the school if the medical staff botched something horribly but Dykes has no liability for a player sucker punching another player outside of a team activity. Even if things were known to be heated between them before. That’s easily (and correctly) called a camp battle. A lunatic escalating it beyond that is not his problem

Also can see how guys didn’t stop it, this wasn’t a fight with both guys shouting at each other and pushing and then throwing. This sounds like it went down pretty quick, it was a sneak attack not a pushing match that became punches being thrown.

Kicking someone in the head when they are already knocked out has been a disturbing trend we are seeing often on social media now. We are way too lenient on savages in this country.

Fields was booked and charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a felony. He was later released on a $50,000 bond.
