Right, but Gobert is good, and so is Hayward. Crowder is not good like Horford or IT4. That's where the discrepancy comes in where it's not really an apples and apples comparison IMO.
But Crowder is a good player. He's not an all-star caliber, but he's had a higher real +/- than Hayward in each of the last two seasons, the on-off statistics are supplemental to that. He also had an EFG% of 57.2, so he was an efficient scorer.

Hayward is better, but he's not that much better, expecially at 4.5 times the salary, and 3+ times the salary of Crowder and Olynyk.

Again the difference in how much he's contributed to that vs how much he's been fortunate to have good team members compared to the same 2 things for Hayward really makes it apples and oranges.

Hayward is much better than Crowder, c'mon man.

Utah plays the slowest pace in the league. I wish I could find the tweet, but based on per 100 possessions, there were only like 4 players in the league averaging something 33/8/5 on 47%+ shooting. It was LeBron, KD, 1 more guy maybe, and Hayward.

I'll see if I can find it. You could maybe argue is Hayward worth a max, but I don't get this Hayward isn't much better than Crowder talk.

ETA: Kawhi was the 4th.
ETA2: The only players to go 33/8/5 (no FG%) were LBJ/KD/Russ/Harden/Kawhi/Boogie/Hayward

I think creepers might be a better term than investigators It's a little weird how far it's gotten. I'm waiting for the time someone finds travel brochures in a player's trash

Looks like he might be connecting to Cabo. SJD (at the bottom next to his name) is the airport code for Cabo. I think United flights to Newark are pretty limited from Cabo to compared to several a day from IAH

Obviously for plebs like you and I they would check it all the way through but someone special like him they may not

Well why do you keep think I'm using real +/- which you keep ignoring for some reason? It attempts to isolate each player's contribution by controlling for the other players on the court.

If he was much better, the data would show he is much better. He is better, but he's not 4.5 times better.

It's Kawhi but those figured are so arbitrary. Kyrie almost meets it if you switch assists (8.3) and rebounds (4.5).

If he was much better than he wouldn't have a lower real +/- and only a marginally better box +/- over the last 2 Seasons. For 0 to 2 points per 100 possessions, 25 million dollars is a lot for a marginal gain.

And when you consider that it's Crowder + Olynyk and their 11.4 million combined salary, Hayward and his 32 million dollar salary is clearly less value for the cost, and may be less value overall.

I was wondering when somebody was going to call him out for that comment.

Bottom line, Crowder is a very good player. I'd love to have him back on Dallas. HOWEVER, anyone who thinks that Hayward is only slightly better hasn't been watching him play in the last few years at all.
