I don't think anything proves the growing popularity of the WNBA more than the possible deciding game of the finals starting at 11:30 on a weekday

Ratings and tv ratings are up, but largely due to manufactured drama more than anything and up from where they were the 25 years prior is still really not good relatively speaking.

they only exist due to the huge subsidy from the NBA and the strong arming of the networks and advertisers by said NBA.

The small gain in popularity of the WNBA is still tiny compared to other sports and even women’s college basketball finals.

Last 5 finals for WNBA vs women’s national championship average viewership.

WNBA: 548k , 543k , 728k , 1.6m , 1.45m

National championship: 4.13m , 4.85m , 9.92m , 18.87m , 8.50m

I had never watched one second of a WNBA game until Caitlin Clark showed up.

I wouldn’t go if you offered to pay me $35 to take the ticket.

...which owes a lot to the pointing and anti-tranny stance of Sophie Cunningham and the MMA level of "defense" allowed against Caitlin Clark.

She’s a golden goose that they are too stupid to cash in on. She could do for the wnba what tiger did for the pga. The refs shouldn’t let a finger be laid on her without calling a foul. They’d rather go broke being woke.

Why are the leaving the arena for the national anthem? I thought that type of protest had faded away.

They signed a 2 billion dollar tv deal, got private flights, and tripled their max salaries. That isnt cashing in?

Its 16k seats in Atlanta. Not exactly tough to sell out. People will use any excuse to take off work or leave early.
