Everyone, all day has missed those putts on the low side.
And Johnson will just have a 1 shot lead.

Very tight lie. 12 foot deep bunker green about 10 paces wide and sloping away. Downwind.

oh big miss there....Zach needs to lock up his bogey and let's close this thing on 18

The road hole is arguably the toughest par 4 in golf.

Wow, Louis let him off the hook. Derp.

You really have like a 10 foot landing area for the flop Zach was trying to hit, and off that lie it's really difficult.

Did ZJ talk a little shite? Heard him say Yep right after he hit it. May have been talking to caddie

quote:Oh I know that. Was just asking about the landing zone he had on that pitch and why it was so hard for him to keep the ball on the green. I'd be shitting my pants because of that bunker. Seemed like Zach could have landed the ball on the downslope on the other side, just off the green, or anywhere before the hole if he wanted.

The best chippers in golf would find that shot incredibly hard. The landing area is super small and the risk of error is really high.
Not to mention it is in a playoff to win a major.

Great shot. Zach will have a putt to win unless. Louis chips in

Jason Day was so scared of the shot he putted it

yesterday he asked dunne what he wanted to do on the first tee and dunne said make contact with the ball.
I saw that, and it pissed me off then too. His whole "look at that screen and tell me what you see.." thing was horrible. And when Dunne laughed and was like "yeah, I know. It's an honor to be there with those great players" Tom was like "no, tell me what you see.." I wanted to punch my TV.
And Friday he asks Tom Watson why he pointed up to the sky on Swilcan bridge and Tom said it was for a few special people in his life that aren't here anymore, and Tom starts in with the "what do you think they saw today..?" Motherfricker, have some respect for a golf legend and don't ask him that bullshite. Tom handled it awesomely when he said "a hack," but of course Rinaldi then bellowed out a childish laugh louder than shite.
Every time he's interviewed someone, I've gotten legit angry.

quote:10 foot landing zone?! You could hit a 10 foot landing zone 60% of the time. Zach Johnson would hit it 99/100 times. Or more. I wasn't dogging the shot, as I asked before he even hit it. Was just wondering why it was so tough.

If he lands it on that downslope, all sorts of bad things could happen. Huge bounce forward or sideways, or possibly stay on the slope. Basically have to fly that to the hole and pray it checks
