How many rounds in a British Open has Speith played? How many rounds at St. Andrews? He was much better in the third and fourth rounds. You know why, experience. He adapted to the course the more he has played it. You've got probably one shot in a lifetime to win the Grand Slam. Why cost yourself preparation for that by playing in the John Deere?
Jesus Christ. You post like you have some kind of specific knowledge about his situation.
Give it a rest.

If R & A hadn't made him go out and play that one fricking hole on Saturday morning, he could be in the playoff.

I still say Jordan has had a freaking fantastic year and nothing should be taken away from him for honoring his commitments.

And if he would've won this week he is a genius for playing he John Deere. It's easy to think you're right now.

How do you know this? What makes you an authority?
By listening to other pros. By listening to Tour players/analyst who explain how people prepare for majors. I am seconding an opinion from PGA players that has been broadcasted since before the tournament started.

That's bullshite for Dunne. He was the last player announced by that old bastard until the playoff ruined it.

None know more about what is good for Jordan's game than him and his coaches.......

You know what else gives someone confidence, winning a tournament which Jordan did. That can be invaluable. Zach Johnson playing well last week had to help him. It really just depends on the player. The 2nd round was brutal conditions for Jordan. That hurt how well he played.

Spieth's putting stats are truly enigmatic. He is ranked 180th in putts 4-8 feet, yet is by far #1 from 20 ft +.
And he still had the year he's had. Imagine if he just marginally improves those 4-8 footers.

Which tour pros? If they haven't won the Open and did come a week early to learn the course, then their opinion doesn't mean shite
Posted on 7/20/15 at 1:01 pm to Choupique19
He was better in the 3rd and 4th rounds because he didn't have shite weather. Everyone went low those 2 rounds
Posted on 7/20/15 at 1:03 pm to Choupique19
and none are better than him. Hence, take the opinion of the actual guy thats playing in the open and still kicked about everyone elses arse. yeah, that guy knows best.

It's not second guessing, it's been discussed all week leading up to the Open. Is this you guys first major to ever watch? Do you not realize that most pros expecting to win don't play a major event without having done as much homework as possible?

Or he plays the Scottish Open and is defeated, then brings zero confidence to The Open. I mean this is golf guys, you win some and lose some. It's literally one shot difference.

Exactly. If he's just average at the midrange game, he would be unstoppable.

Damn Leishman's ball released

He might be one of those guys that given enough time to think about it he freaks out. Playing last week kept his mind off it. When he is older and has more of this under his belt, maybe he takes a week off

Come on man. Only major winners opinion count? Joe Torre sucked as a player. Phil Jackson was a below average NBA player. Nick Saban is a midget who couldn't start on the football team at Kent State. Do their opinions on their sport mean anything?
