Over the last 2 games
3,708 last night

*paid not actual*
Shitty ballpark
Shitty team who traded anything of value
Shitty economy
This is gonna happen a lot this year

It’s a weekday game while school is still in. These games are always low in attendance. No teams, especially colder weather teams, want these games at home this time of year. TV contracts are worth more than ever and also leading to lower attendance in every sport except NFL.

I do think it would be fun to go to a game where you were basically the only person there.

and people are still sitting in the upper deck

Damn I think even the zephyrs were getting near those kind of numbers and they were a bottom feeder triple A team.

They may give the Rays a run for their money in attendance numbers this year.

The die hards deserve better. When I went, there was a VERY dedicated group of fans in the outfield bleachers. They beat drums, hit cowbells, chanted for each individual player. They had a good minor league system that fed them quality players during this last stretch.
frick the ownership and frick the Oakland council.

Ironically a team who can’t move tickets needs the ticket guys the most to try and push the tickets hard.
When a team sells out and likely will continue to do so, they lay off most if not all of their ticket staff.
Hell, they may be about giving away the tickets if it means they get people in the stadium and buying concessions. Not like they are losing much by papering here.

Final score was 1-0 and the run was scored on an error. That’s one hell of a day at the ball park.

Sounds like the Yankees circa 1990 when they were unbelievably shitty.
Their pitcher (Andy Hawkins?) threw 8 no-hit innings but a run scored due to an error by someone else. Because they were the away team, he managed to throw a no-hitter AND lose while only pitching 8 innings.
MLB’s changes to counting no-hitters eventually wiped that one off the books but it was a hell of an oddity at the time.
