This is the result of As ownership actively trying to generate apathy in the fan base so when they move to Vegas they can throw their hands up and say fan support was dead in Oakland. Total team payroll of $44 million + price hikes + horrible attendance = save money and move to Vegas.

Hammer ----> Nail
They traded away EVERYTHING on their roster this offseason before the ink dried on the new cba.

No teams, especially colder weather teams, want these games at home this time of year.

The Bay Area is always chilly.

I do think it would be fun to go to a game where you were basically the only person there.

Is A’s ownership the same as it was in the Moneyball days?

Exactly. Ownership is trying to pull a Rachel Phelps.

Damn I think even the zephyrs were getting near those kind of numbers and they were a bottom feeder triple A team.

I think the A's triple A team in vegas also gets more people than this.

Problem #1 - A's have a game at 12:37P (2:37 CT) today and 2 tickets in Section 111 (first base) are $75/ea. They should be giving tickets away for a mid-day, mid-week game.

They are, but to be fair, at least ownership made several proposals to stay in Oakland. The city shot everything down.

They seem hell-bent on driving every pro sports franchise out of town.

The list of cities that used to (but no longer) have any major sports teams has to be pretty short, but, Oakland will be on it soon.

I assume vegas would build a retractable roof stadium?

August baseball in Vegas seems miserable

Dry heat aside, 105° is miserable

Nah

Zephyr Field was empty their last few years.

Weeknight games attendance rarely got out of the 100’s
