Those people running were dudes trying to get pinned under the tree so they could negotiate a spot on the patron list

We’ve already dealt with a similar situation at the Tour Championship

Holy crap, these Golf Channel Buffoons talking about Brooks are hilarious. It is visibly killing them to have to give him credit cause he plays on LIV. Now the talking point is, well if he wasn’t hurt he would still be a PGA Tour player. Also was Paul Mcginley the only person willing to put up with Brandel’s shite that would take the job?

How does Augusta National handle LIV tournament performance in regards to player's qualifying to play in the Masters'?

There are 5 or 6 former Masters champions in LIV, so they will always be back.

Because Brooks basically said as much in his presser after Thursday’s round

For real, Brooks literally said in a presser if he had been healthy he would have thought much harder about the jump. But yes, everyone is out for LIV

LIV players who have exemptions:
Forever - Reed, Bubba, Phil, Schwartzel, Sergio, DJ
Major exemptions - Bryson (‘25), Koepka (‘24), Smith (‘27)

LIV players who need T12 or better this week:
HV3, Gooch, Kokrak, Ancer, Niemann, Oosthuizen (crazy that he might not ever play the Masters again), Pieters, Pereira, Na

They can still qualify for future Masters w good major performances (T4 or T5 depending on the major I think), and they might add qualifiers from LIV, but based off what we have now, a fair number of players have some pressure this week.

Eta: I might be wrong on some of this. Was just off the top of my head what I could remember.

Draftkings is weird right now, they are only posting odds for a handful of guys for second round leader. Here is the latest from your friends at Fanduel.

OWGR isn’t in a hurry to tweak their ranking for LIV. Clearly some political reasons for that, but LIV also doesn’t have a lot to stand on given how many exceptions they would need to OWGR’s requirements (because of their format, 54 holes only, no cut, no open qualifying, no developmental system in, etc).

That’s not to say they won’t get added to OWGR eventually, other events that don’t meet all the OWGR qualifications have gotten points, but the application process takes years when you are starting from scratch and have so many exceptions to the OWGR requirements.

Also worth wondering how many points a LIV event would get? Everything outside the PGA tour events get paltry points now. The Tour’s move to limited field no cut events could actually help LIV in this regard, if OWGR tweaks the formula to accommodate the tour

First, get the 2nd round totally completed.

Secondly, re-group the pairings according to scores and start the 3rd round.

If the weather permits.
