Burrow is faster and more athletic than Haskins was.

Whomever downvoted this is an idiot. Haskins ran a 5.04 40 at the combine and was a statue. Burrow was a dual threat guy in HS and was very effective when he ran it in college.

Haskins threw for 70%, 4800 yards, 50 tds, and 8 ints the season he played

So I mean it’s hard to say it was a bad decision.

And had a thumb injury

I don't think anyone disputes who the better QB is but it's not like Haskins was trash at Ohio State. He played himself into a first round pick

Didn’t say it was a bad decision, but it wasn’t because Haskins could use his legs better than Burrow

I wanted Haskins out of high school, even then he was deadly accurate. Think he just didn’t have the right motivation or mind for the NFL.

Burrow broke his thumb at Ohio State which gave Haskins the edge but hey, you be you.

That’s cool man… thanks for passing on the QB who had the greatest college season of all time so LSU could get him and have GOAT team ever!

PS: was it fun watching teams from the south kick the rest of the country’s arse for the last 15 years?

Don’t worry I’m sure that the talking heads on sports networks will try to convince us that the Big10 has title contenders again next year only to lose to teams from the south at end of year again!

To be fair, Ohio State is very talented and should’ve beaten UGA. But yes, Michigan isn’t there.

Yep. He would come up big in big games...except for Alabama that year (2018) Personally, I think his two best performances were against Georgia that year and in OT against A&M. In that Georgia game, he really stood out especially on that keeper where he was 20 yards downfield before anyone knew he had the ball.....broke their back on that play

Burrow had family members who had played at Nebraska in the past and rumor was Joe was at least strongly interested in possibly transferring to Lincoln from Ohio State but Scott Frost, in his infinite wisdom remarked aloud if Joe “was better than what we have” (Adrian Martinez at the time) and showed zero interest in Joe.

Frost’s stupidity worked out better for Joe in the long run anyway as Burrow went to a great and loaded LSU program and would lead one of the great seasons in college football ever and a Natty.

Glad to see Joe having continued epic success in the NFL and Scott Frost is no longer a factor at Nebraska so hopefully the stupid decisions have left with him.

Joe is one of the most elusive quarterbacks in the league.

Joe Burrow was ahead till his hand injury- and when Haskins got a chance v the Woolverines - he balled out and actually ran effectively- fooling everyone into thinking he would willingly run…

Had Urban not told Joe B he wasn’t the guy in the spring - good chance he never transfers but Urban felt he owed it to him…

Good on him and LSU… love that he started with the buckeyes but he certainly made his legend in BR and Cincy

Was thinking exact same.

Urban inelegantly departs Ohio State, does what does at Jacksonville (vs what Peterson did in 2022), and now reflecting on what Urban did not do with Joe Burrow…

More stink on Urban’s reputation than on his fingers

That wasn't my point. You are absolutely correct.

But, for some odd reason, a lot of college coaches are all in on these guys who PREFER to run.

Joe runs when necessary. And, for the most part, when he escapes the pocket, he's STILL looking to throw until he cannot. He's PASS FIRST, run if must.

For soem weird reason, the run first, pass if must thing seems to have popularity in college.

You could argue there is a change a lot of them at determination came from that snuff.

He’s an athlete but that’s not what sets him apart. He’s not dominating by sheer physical prowess.

He’s dominating with brains and sheer will.

I mean…it gets weird on here because some grown arse “men” come off as they’d be honored for Burrow to take their wife or girlfriend from them with the way they knight for him.

That set aside, I think with Burrow you’re looking at the next true post-season gamer in the NFL. Those guys who may not always have the best regular season passing stats, but playoff time hits, and no matter who is lining up with them, they’ll find a way to beat you. They’ll do it as their supporting cast changes.

Unitas, Staubach, Montana, Brady…I think Burrow is next in that line.

It’s just a feeling I get watching him. Of course, we’ll have to see when he no longer has a trio as good as Chase, Higgins and Boyd. But he sure looks the part, in my unprofessional opinion.
