In person or on TV?

In person was Tebow. On TV, hell if I know.

I was a little kid at my aunt's house and I remember watching the ceremony but I don't remember who it was. Judging by the timeline it was probably either Charlie Ward or Rashaan Salaam. The first one I remember after I personally started gaining interest in watching football myself was Charles Woodson.

ETA: I forgot you said as a fan of the game. So I guess that would be Charles Woodson for sure.

On TV? Eddie George running for like 800 yards against Illinois.

Ron Dayne was the first I remember with actually being a fan of the game. I was 13 and before then I didn't have the attention span to sit through a whole game on a Saturday afternoon. Would rather have been hunting, fishing, or playing sports instead of inside watching them.

Born in '84, first Heisman hype I remember was Rashaan Salaam vs Ki-Jana Carter in '94.

I was at RGIII’s first ever collegiate game where he came in and did this against Wake Forest...

It was pretty obvious that he would be a bright spot for an otherwise shittey Baylor program.

I think I was aware of some prior winners, but can't remember plays. This is probably the first.
