Hopefully they're not on the decline as schools.
they have been on the decline as schools for decades. Ridgewood was mostly made up of kids who got kicked out of other schools and Ecole has like 100 students

Ridgewood used to recruit kids to play from local playgrounds, Cleary, Bright, Miley, Pontiff (Metry) .
. Would have won more games if they had recruited Girard harder

That’s funny. My mom went to Ridgewood around the same time.

There's a reunion of classes '70-'75 coming up in November if she's interested. Info on fb.

Best part of that old photo is that it says "Nicole Classique" on the bottom.

Ecole Classique

I happened to run into their coach (his name escapes me) the other day. He said that he's not sure they'll even be able to field a basketball team. I'm thinking you only need five players. You can't find five kids to dribble the ball?

That was Ecole Classique.
Owl was asking about Northshore. They beat us with just freshmen and sophomores in 1983, only open a year.

Ecole always had a pretty small student body and if they are hurting for enrollment and/or the kids aren't interested, they may not be able to.

Dementia has officially set in. At 3am this morning I woke up to remember the school was FERNCREST. Green and yellow jersey colors. Pretty sure the school was located around Gentilly since the football game was played at Pan Am Stadium / City Park. Probably during my 8th grade year since we also played Ganus during that same time period.

Agreed. But Sam and his paddle would have been cancelled a long time ago.

Steve Stropolo was the star of that '72 team. Really great athlete who held Nicholls State's rushing record for a while.
