I was going for the R-L-R with Freeman in the 2nd spot, but agree with you that Donaldson would be better with Freeman behind him.
My basic thought is you get your three best hitters in the top three spots. Gets them more ABs. After the first inning, Ender is essentially the lead off hitter to get on base for those guys.
The 4-7 slots can be mixed up as needed

Castellanos has one year left on his deal and the Tigers want a top 1 or 2 prospect for him.
I haven't read that anywhere.

ollock is 31, hasnt played a full season since 2015, and actually wasnt even as good as Markakis last season
Markakis disappeared for half a season.

Some of those numbers are peak Pederson. Mind you Duvall's atrocious stint with the Braves last season skewed his numbers. His previous 2 seasons were better than Pederson's. Is Pederson the better player? Yes, but not so much better that it's worth trading for him considering what we already have on the roster.

What does everyone think the next move is? Feels like it could be Kimbrel to me. Not sure what I’d think about that.
We have to address the bullpen. That's my guess.

I do like AA's approach, though. He's patient.

And not spending money.
Almost like the same ownership and management that has run the Braves since they bought'em from Ted.

The braves have the biggest free agent yearly contract to date. Not sure what you are meaning. I was actually worried about AA. He mortgaged the future in Toronto with moves that didn't really pan out. I'm glad he has taken a bit more conservative approach.
We are a midmarket team. Sometimes I think fans forget that. Look at Houston. They are the model of what the Braves are trying to achieve. We are doing a damn good job of it.

Houston has dropped some serious coin to be true contenders though, particularly with Verlander. They've been willing to pay $28M/year for him.
Their payroll right now is $128M and ours is $109M. That's a pretty big disparity.

We are also likely not done spending in off season. We are atleast two years behind them as well.

I just look at this lineup and I get excited. As long as Donaldson is what he can can be, and some of the kids and Ender takes steps forward, and FF Stays MVP caliber.
Then I look at the pitching.
Man it just looks so disappointing on paper. I know we’re rebuilding and a lot of our youth is in arms, but I would be so much more excited with a Kluber and Kimbrel on the back end.

Bowman stating braves are only 15 million from the absolute top of their spending level. And they want to preserve it for in season aquisitons.
Sounds like DOB was right and the braves were only going to spend around 30m this off-season.
Any other acquisitions will probably be via trade, IMO.

Does your uncle have any hot inside info?
Posted on 1/25/19 at 4:17 pm to Sun God
Yes
My uncle, who works in the Braves front office, told me to stock up on lots of toilet paper because things are about to get real shitty. Take that FWIW.

Thats exactly the spot where it was rumored to be months ago.
According to cots, last year the team started the year at 118 million and ended the season at 136. After signing Markakis, the team is at 115. If they add another 15 mil before the season, they will be at 130, 12 million more than last season, and will still have 15 mil to spend in season.
Not sure why anyone is shocked with this. This has been the plan all along.

Teheran to SD for Wil Myers and cash

Ahit, for the longest time when the Yankees had the largest payroll or weren't because of FA it was Jeter, Pettite, Williams, Posada, Rivera players that came up through the organization that took up most of the payroll. That is what teams need to copy, resign your young studs and the a vet to fill it out

Its not a rumor if you make it up in your head.
There is nothing on twitter about any rumors, not reddit.
