We haven't been nearly as active as I thought we'd be.

I do like AA's approach, though. He's patient. Looks like he wants his stockpile of young talent to mature.

We will definitely be deeper this year, offensively.

I was really hoping AA would get us another solid bullpen arm and another proven starter.

The flip side is you don't want to end up with multiple guys like Kolby Allard, who has basically no trade value anymore.

The other counter to that is trade everyone away and be left with allard (thinking he's still a stud in your stable).

Also, want to say that it is only 1/22. Still plenty of time for moves to be made.

I feel like we are in the darkest timeline right now.

A Markakis/Duvall platoon sounds ok right now, but we all know Snitker has a love affair with Nick, and no matter if he is on a 15 game hitting streak or if he is 0 for his last 40, he will be in the game.

Also, its freaking idiotic to have Inciarte leading off. He had a 55 wRC+ from there last season. It was 137 hitting 2nd, and 119 hitting 7th.

It wouldnt be so bad if a bigger move is made with the money remaining, since we should still have around 25 million to spend(at least 10 of that will be saved for in season moves).

What does everyone think the next move is? Feels like it could be Kimbrel to me. Not sure what I’d think about that.

I think it all depends on if it takes less than 50 million, so we dont have to lose our third pick in the draft.

If he'd take 3/45, I think we would sign him. We are at 115 million now, and that would put us at 130. We started last season at 118 and ended at 136, so we'd probably still have 10-12 million for the season.

It would be amazing if we could shed Teheran, and his salary. Would save 11 million and would open up a rotation spot for a young guy.

Agreed. Wouldn't have thought Kimbrel was going to give us a discount early on but the longer this goes, the greater that chance is IMO.

I agree. Kimbrel most likely. Still thinking something out of left field (AA talked about trade being close, but not agreeing on extra pieces). Makes me wonder if Castellanos or Peralta are still in play. Would also love to dump Teheran. I would rather watch NM play everyday right field than watch JT pitch every 5.

I guess Ender could be involved in a move for a corner outfielder still.

I'd like to see

1- Acuna LF
2- Freeman 1b
3- Donaldson 3b
4- Albies 2b
5- flowers/McCann C
6- Markakis/Duvall/carmargo rf
7- Swanson SS
8- pitcher
9- Inciarte CF

Apparently there was some writer that wrote over the weekend that the Braves were close to bringing back Markakis on a one year deal. Was the only guy reporting this. Now he is saying that the Braves are looking at a trade with the Dodgers for Joc Pederson.

You're kidding right. His power numbers dropped sharply when people stopped throwing him fastballs early in the count.

Again, depends on what is in the deal. He's cheap, Has a couple years of control, hits RHP really well. Could have a platoon with NM, Camargo, etc. Would also provide valuable LH bat off the bench.

Also again, what move do you want made? You react negatively to every move, but you don't ever have a solution.

Haniger, Castellanos, Pollock, Myers would have been good with me. Before you jump on the Myers mention, there was a real possibility SD would have eaten some of his money for the right pieces. Pederson is basically a slightly better Adam Duvall at this point.

I like castellanos, but he is an abysmal fielder. Also, asking price is supposedly sky high for a one year player. Hanniger has never been availible, so doesn't really count. I'll say truce on Myers. Not sure that would actually come to fruition.
Pollock is wanting $80 million for a 2.5 to 3 War player.

I would switch Donaldson and Freeman and drop Albies to like 6th.

Haniger is off limits. Seattle is not trading him. Castellanos has one year left on his deal and the Tigers want a top 1 or 2 prospect for him. Pollock comes with the team losing their 2nd round pick, and we already lost the third round pick this year from sanctions from Coppy. Pollock is 31, hasnt played a full season since 2015, and actually wasnt even as good as Markakis last season. Myers is no where as valuable as the contract he has, even with San Diego paying some of it.

.248/.321/.522, .354 wOBA, 126 wRC+, 19.2 K, 9.0 BB, 2.7 WAR

.241/.297/.498, .333 wOBA+, 104 wRC+, 27.0 K, 6.7 BB, 2.5 WAR

The top is Joc Pederson's season in 2018. Probably the third best of his career. The one under it is the best season Adam Duvall ever had.

Basically, everything you said in your post was incorrect.
