He's here strictly for his bat.
Just keep him out of the field as much as possible, please.

AL Champ: Jays
NL Champ: Dodgers
WS Champ: Dodgers
I am actually ok w/these predictions, they are pretty realistic. But boy the national media can't stop sucking the Dodgers' d**k.

Are you afraid to spell dick?
Also, it's not dick-sucking. They had one of the best rosters in baseball and added a top 5 hitter. On paper, they have a line-up that could be historic.
Doesn't mean we can't beat them. We've proven that we're up for it the last two seasons.

I don't wanna get banned.
I think when you factor in the staffs, the Braves have the slightly better roster. And the offenses are a wash IMO. If Bellenger hits around.200 w/180-200K's again then the Braves could have a slight edge there.
The Braves beat them straight-up, so that's something these national writers need to take into consideration here. There is no doubt that they are the two best offenses in the NL and two of the top-5 in the game. Philly will have a pretty damm good lineup but their defense is gonna be historically bad so they cancel each other out.
Also, the Dodgers still have Dave Roberts as manager. That gives an automatic edge to the Braves. He fricking sucks.

They lost one of their best players before gaining a top 5 hitter. Bellinger is terrible, and people can stop counting him as an "MVP caliber" player, and strictly view him for what he is now. They traded AJ Pollock, who was good for them last year, as well.
With all of that said, I don't agree with this "could be best lineup ever" talk. Their lineup has at best not gotten better, and may have regressed.
They won't have Bauer, they don't have Scherzer, and they signed a bunch of injured pitchers to try to give them depth. The Dodgers got worse, on the whole, and the Braves got better. I don't see why it would be hard for the media to predict who the better team is. We are getting back one of the best players in the game, who we just won a World Series without. The wildcard is Ozuna. I have high hopes for him, but he has to prove that the slow start he got off to last year, as well as hitting under .200 this spring is a fluke. If he does, I think the Braves legitimately have the best roster in baseball.

Hopefully Ozuna raking in the Dominican League in the winter is a good harbinger.
He does have a history of starting slow so let's make sure we don't freak out if it happens.
But you are right, if Ozuna is on then bake ham for the rest of the NL. That Phillies offense is gonna be pretty good, but that defense of theirs is gonna be historically bad.

Yeah, he does. He was bad in the spring of 2020, and started the actual season slow, before taking off. So we will have to give him a few weeks to get it going, if he hasn't gotten hot before then.

Yeah, that, and the Phillies are the Phillies, just like the Mets are the Mets. They find ways to screw things up. The Phillies pitching depth, as usual, is nothing special, and they will wear down the good pitchers they have, like they always do.

The Phils' pen is a dumpster fire like it has been the last 3 years.

His cold streaks wouldn't be so terrible if he wasn't an absolute liability in the outfield.
Thankfully the DH can help limit our use of him on defense, but you also probably shouldn't waste the DH spot on an ice cold hitter.
I love Ozuna's bat, so don't take this as me shitting on him.

He's our best option at DH due to his defensive liabilities.
But like we said earlier, he starts slow but once he gets going it's over.

Micheal Shapiro is a moron.
And when are people gonna learn not to pick the Mets. Verducci should know better.

Freddie’s team hard at work shaping the media message out in LA.
What a deceitful and factually inaccurate piece this is.

I stumbled on to this couple nights ago. I was a 9 year old kid in ‘82 who worshipped Dale Murphy and the Braves. Seeing this brought back so many good memories and made me feel like I was 9 again.
was a little kid myself. i remember that year. swept by cards in playoffs in 3 straight.

Two of my top three most-hated teams to this day are the Dodgers and the Reds for that exact reason. (My top three are 1. Dodgers 2. Mets 3. Reds.)

Started really watching as a Braves fan back in 1983(I had just turned 8). We started falling off a cliff after that with Horner's injuries, Komminsk not working out, the Butler trade, etc, so I really wasn't old enough to see those division battles in the early 80s.
And after that either we sucked or we won the division, so wasn't much of a reason to dislike them. Now dislike Bonds and Kent and the Giants? Or dislike Leyland, Bonds, Bonilla and Van Slyke, and the Pirates? Very much so.
The only team I really disliked during our bad stretch in the 80s was the Mets, as their bandwagon fans would take over the launching pad when they visited and act like jerks.
