The Dodgers just traded AJ Pollock for Craig Kimbrel straight up. This feels personal lol

I stumbled on to this couple nights ago. I was a 9 year old kid in ‘82 who worshipped Dale Murphy and the Braves. Seeing this brought back so many good memories and made me feel like I was 9 again.
It was a fluke that Ted Turner chose to create a behind the scenes documentary of sorts prior to the ‘82 season and that the Braves happened to have an amazing season of ups and downs that culminated in an unexpected division title. This covers every angle of the season. If you’re a long-time Braves fan who remembers that year this is a gem you can’t miss.
One thing I found so refreshing is the simplicity of things back then. The locker rooms that were essentially broom closets, the single 19-in tv the players huddled around, bat boys putting shoe polish on beat-up cleats, etc. Just a time when it was still a bunch of boys playing baseball, no fanfare.
Lots of interesting footage of Ted Turner running meetings with the coaching staff. I’m still just amazed I found this. Worth every minute of the 3 hours.

Kimbrel is a shell of himself.
Good luck, Dodgers.

Yeah I’d much rather have Jansen.

I think you're on to something about this being personal.
This is a full-bore rivalry now.

Have I been the only one hating the Dodgers for all these years?
I don't know why, but I've detested them for all of my living memory. Which is weird, cause I'm not just blanket anti-LA. I don't mind the Lakers or any other team from LA. Just frick the Dodgers.

I actually really liked the Dodgers back in the late 80s under Lasorda. It's only once the Dodgers got their most recent TV deal and went full on outspend everyone mode Yankees style that I started to really dislike them and root for them to fail.

Jansen had less strikeouts than Kimbrel in more innings last year, and more walks even accounting for the innings difference. It’s a push at best

He was crap w/the White Sox.

The 1-2-3 punch of O'Flaherty, Venters, and Kimbrel is something I find myself getting nostalgic over often.
No better feeling than carrying a lead into the 7th knowing that we had the game on ice with those crazy frickers coming out of the pen

Fredi ruined the first two. Just ran them into the ground.

You could just say you were full of bs (per usual), 24 games is a relatively low sample size for a reliever. Kimbrel was better last year, and he’s younger. Sorry if that offends any snowflakes who have issues being objective about sports

I did read, and I didn't know this previously, that he was used in a setup role w/the White Sox. That may of had something to do w/his #'s due to him being used to working the final 3 outs.
But he hasn't been the same since his first year w/BOS. He's still ok but he's not the dominant Kimbrel that we've known.

Luke had an MRI done this morning and he has damage to his UCL. Which ultimately will mean TJS.
Thank God we have depth in that pen.

Goins, Valaika, Gosselin all sent to minor league camp. Likely means last bench piece will come from outside the organization.

Pretty much confirms it.
It was those three and Holt battling for that last spot.

I get it.
It's not the first time that has happened in a baseball clubhouse; nor will it be the last.
