The cynic in me thinks that dansby’s shithead agent is encouraging him to repeatedly post about how much the team missses ff

He needs to fire that shithead agency.

And they'll get over it.If they haven't already.

OD roster:

quote:

Rotation: Fried, Morton, Anderson, Wright, Ynoa

Bullpen, Jansen, Matzek, McHugh, O'Day, Strider, Thornburg, Minter, Smith, Newk, Davidson

Catchers: d'Arnaud, Pina, Contreras

Infield: Olson, Albies, Swanson, Riley, Arcia

OF: Duvall, Ozuna, Dickerson, Rosario, Heredia

Also,Snit announced Davidson and Strider will be on the Opening Day roster. He'll play matchups on which will be starting as the 6th man. Contreras is also getting the final bench spot. Apparently they plan to work Contreras at 3B, so they can use him at OF, 3B or C if necessary. Arcia will backup 2B/SS. Riley and Duvall will remain the backup 1B options.

He'll be ready sometime in the 2nd half.

I mean, they clearly haven't if they are still leaving lockers empty.

They'll be fine. They're professionals.

I hope Harris gets called up at some point this season. He looks like the old prototypical leadoff hitter who hits for average and has great speed.

If all things go well he should be a September call-up.

I will bet you $10 that they do the same thing they did with Langeliers last season - play a full season in Mississippi and then finish the season in Gwinnett.

I could definitely see that, also.

No need to rush.

Great memories. I was 12 and remember that 13-0 start and the excitement that built after we got to 8 in a row and had 10 in sight. The way it fired up Braves fans from all across the south wouldn’t be matched again until the 91 season. I remember watching that when it originally aired in 83 but haven’t seen it since. Thanks for the link.

I think Harris is probably more likely to be called up than SL was last year because they literally don’t have an everyday CF unless you count Duvall since they clearly don’t want to play Acuña in CF. If Harris performs well in Mississippi I think they will be aggressive early. Much easier to handle CF than C, especially with all they require from a catcher from a game planning and prep standpoint at the big league level.

So this is the lineup for today:

1.Ozzie
2.Olson
3.Riley
4.Ozuna(LF)
5.Duvall
6.Rosario
7.TDA
8.Dansby
9.Contreras(DH)

I would flip Ozzie and Rosario and have Ozuna as the DH obviously and have either Heredia or Contreras in RF but I think this is pretty close to what we'll see on Thursday IMO.

I think you're right about that. Man, Ronald can't get back soon enough. Ozuna in the OF is a liability

A lot of people don’t want to talk about it but we gave him a terrible contract, and we are really lucky to have the universal DH.

I think they gave him that deal, entirely under the assumption that the universal DH was going to be part of the new CBA. And if he performs anywhere near his best, his deal will be a steal when compared to the market.

I think it's a little soon to call it a terrible deal.

Yeah, I think people are going to be presently surprised with Ozuna this year. He tore it up in winter league and had a decent spring.

My guess is AA/management had a strong feeling universal DH was coming so they did what was necessary to get the deal done. He's not a great defender, but if he's half as good as he was in 2020 the contract won't be bad. Hoping the reps he got in the Dominican Winter League help him start better than last season.
