There's an eclectic group of schools amongst these guys. For the life of me I had no idea that Phil Simms and Doug Williams didn't play in Division I-A.

Are you suggesting that all of those players graduated from college? I would doubt that is true. Perhaps, but doubtful.
ETA: Mahomes did not graduate from college.

You graduate to become an alumnus, making you an alumni. Hence it is your alma mater. It can mean attended, but traditionally refers to an institution one graduated from.

Neither did Bradshaw or Warner.
Note that Flacco redshirted as a freshman and played in 3 or 4 games in another season at PITT before transferring.

This seems like a technicality one would only pull out to confirm a bias.

LSU, ULL, ULM, Grambling, and Tech all have QBs who have started Super Bowls.
I'm pretty sure more Louisiana schools have produced SB starting QBs than Texas schools have.
ETA: I'm sure this list will greatly expand in the coming years, but there are at least 4 or 5 guys on the list in the OP that transferred during college. Aikman, Flacco, I think Nick Foles did.

Technically true, which is why a lot of NFL players announce their Elementary School when introducing themselves on those promos.

Bradshaw played in Division 1. There was no 1A or 1AA until 1978 when there was a split.
