I’ve never seen so many douches give a chit about the weight of another guy, it’s like a bunch of anorexic women in here

he putted well and his iron game was solid.

I am glad people don't judge me based on my social life in college. There were some very questionable times.

But you see, PGA events are 72 holes, not 18. Fabulous 69 though Tiger. You'll get 'em next time.

I really enjoyed this article by Alan Shipnuck about Reed's family and the range of emotions they went though today, and also a little bit of explanation into their estrangement.

Jesus, that’s heartbreaking. The crowd at 18 really didn’t want that last putt to drop.

The bigger story here that Augusta National needs to do something to make the course tougher. The leaders treated it like a pitch and putt this week.

Having 4 guys double digit under par is quite the black eye. Expect changes for next year.

Reed was exactly right. He was there to play golf not give the media some kind of family portrait.

I found the story interesting at first but it is time for these sports writers to move on.

It's not a black eye at all, AN wants this. If they didn't want lower scores compared to the other majors then they would set the course up to be tougher.

Yep. People like birdies on Sundays.

The grind and struggle for pars is for the US Open.

Dawgsontop, thanks for posting that article it was a good read. It had to be tough for his parents to watch from home.

My interaction with Patrick at the Zurich one year was nothing but cordial. I was working the 6th tee during the pro-am. His amateur partners had to use a tee about 70 yards up from the back tee and all 3 were there waiting to hit. Pat walked to the back tee alone with his driver and we started talking. He was showing me his new driver talking about how he really loved it and it was perfect. When he hit, he tried to cut the corner over the water but hooked it. I was shocked when he just laughed and said "guess it's not as perfect as I thought". He hit a second ball over the edge right where he wanted it to go. Every day when he came to the 6th he told me hi and seemed pleasant. It was strange though because he never really talked with his playing partners.

Glad he won, but I would have preferred Rickie or Jordan win.

I'm not sure I've ever seen you post something I agree with. No one wants to watch the leaders all shoot bogey or worse every hole on Sunday.

Sure, they "tiger-proofed" back when Tiger was dominating, but that was because he was dominating everyone else.

Sounds like the parents knew how weird the wife and her family were and had reservations about him getting married to them... So she and her family drove a huge wedge between him and the family. Seen it happen before. Sounds his parents were right to Be concerned.

I somewhat agree and disagree. Augusta has always rewarded players who make great shots and hit their spots, compared to some of the US Open setups where players are fricked on some holes regardless of how well they play. Reed, Fowler, and Spieth were all making great approaches and were putting well.

Iirc, ANGC is already planning on moving the tee boxes back 20-30 yards on the par 4 455 yard 4th for 2019. And they recently purchased quite a bit of land from Augusta Country Club somewhere around Amen Corner
