USC defender should have gotten a lengthy suspension for head hunting with that hit

Probably the most regrettable QB prospect to skip the draft and come back to college story since Matt Barkley.

This is the state of college football.

I got injured.

My team isn't winning, and we are eliminated from the CFP.

Nothing for ME to gain in this situation.

I am shutting it down.

SELFISH.

Forget the university that is paying you, or your brothers on your team that have bled, sacraficed and worked their arse off for you to be better toward your dreams and goals.

That is some SELFISH shite!!

All about YOU!!!

He is not a leader. You can't have this attitude at the most important position in your franchise.

but, but, but, .......... his concussion - bullshite!!!

Team sports is about overcoming adversity, handling difficult situations under duress, being there for your TEAM and working toward common goals.

Its been a month. He could show up for his team. This kid has ZERO CHARACTER.

I wouldn't draft this kid under any circumstance.

Normally, your statement rings true, but he’s not a lock for the #1 pick or anything. He could definitely increase his stock by suiting up and going.

What I think the issue is for current athletes, at least football, is that they don’t really care about winning. The slippery slope suggests some opt outs starting the senior year of HS to secure the NIL deal. Then you opt out once you have a solid draft status sewed up. Once you establish yourself as a pro and get the second contract, you can coast. Nowhere does winning dictate the money.

That said, I’m not sure this is the case for Moore.

A costly mistake coming back to school.

Although, he may get picked up by a good team late in the 1st like Ty Simpson did. Could work out for him

Probably doesn’t want to put out more bad tape playing in an offense that is broken.

He could probably still be a 1st round pick and he definitely got a very nice paycheck to come back... so not all hope is lost and he has a legit reason to not play, it's not like is quitting for no reason... dude got whacked good.

How does your throat feel, Dante? Maybe a little sore?

His decision to skip the 2026 NFL Draft was the dumbest sports decision I've ever seen. By far.

If you are an NFL GM, does this show that he has those traits of a franchise QB who is still going to give max effort even if they are out of the playoff chase, or someone who will wilt? I think NFL GM’s are getting wiser about who really love football, and who are doing it for the money.

I would say 98% of the players in the NFL are playing for the money lol... very few would take a drastic pay cut and suit up on Sunday...

Is this more of a "quiet quitting" thing?

I would say he already showed his character, when he gave up a chance to be a top 5 pick in the draft, in order to return to school and try and help Oregon win a championship. You can't say he did that move for NIL, because his NFL check 100% would have been larger.

That's why you aren't an NFL GM.
