Of you don't have split into quadrants, then you basically have 2 diff leagues masquerading as one conf.

You'd need quadrants to balance out the equation of west vs east. But let's face it, by adding these teams, you'd basically have half the old SWC and Big 8 vs traditional SEC teams.

Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas

Texas A&M
LSU
Mississippi State
Ole Miss

Alabama
Auburn
Tennessee
Vandy

Gerogia
Florida
South Carolina
Kentucky

Then just rotate quadrants every year and maybe have a permemnet crossover every other year to satisfy some rivalries like Texas vs A&M. That way, you still get 8 conf games and it makes everyone happy.

It also doenst screw over some teams.

You could also add 2 more teams if you had to have Okie State. Take NC State in the east and call it a day.

Why would you kick the school that owned the conference across the board this year

Will never happen unless auburn, bama, georgia, and tennessee are all in the east.

As an LSU fan that would mean there are some years where you may only play 1 or 2 games against Auburn, Bama, Georgia, Tennesee, and Florida. Yet every year you are playing A&M, Texas, OU, Arkansas, etc.

That would essentially make the SEC West the pseudo Big 8 and the SEC East the OG SEC. LSU should in no way support this.

Looking at that division alignment, I'm very intrigued. The SEC won't have to worry about protecting any cross-divisional rivalries and you can have a nine game conference schedule for every team with seven divisional games plus two non-divisional games. Every SEC team gets to play each other a minimum of once every four years.

SECW would be crazy difficult though.

They could easily get 5/6 teams in the expanded 12 team playoff though.

If Texas and OU leave the Big 12 you have to think it crumbles away as a conference.

But for the sake:

9 games would be a must, I think that will happen anyway

The Power 5 schools are about to all but completely shut out the others except for a token spot or 2 each year in the CFP.

Therefore, think 10-game conference schedules.

16 teams?

Gimme that 4, 4-team pod structure immediately. Would be weird, frustrating, and an absolute delight

That’s basically how it is now isn’t it? I might be wrong. I hate it I just don’t think it’s going to matter at all for them deciding on it. We still haven’t played Georgia at home lol

I think a Big 12 and Pack 12 merger would then happen to save both conferences

We would obviously vote against it. Not sure how much that would matter. The timing seems odd with the new TV deal just starting unless it can be immediately renegotiated

It's quite the timing considering the rumor last week of Penn St and ND joining ACC.

These things usually happen all at once. That would be crazy if it all came true. The Big 10 would be left at the alter

That's exactly why I proposed them all being in the SECE.

Have news for you Slick. F'ing Missouri has no business in the SEC either.

That's ok hot shot.

If y'all let them join you'll come to regret it like every other conference member they've ever associated with has.

Imagine a schedule where LSU's east teams are Kentucky and South Carolina (or Vandy) or whomever. You don't play bama, auburn, georgia, florida, or Tennessee that year.

Sure it may be advantageous from a w/l standpoint, but that is not even an SEC schedule anymore. That would just be awful. This has zero benefit to LSU. They should be right there with A&M shooting this down.

Texas wouldn't be able to big dick swing in the same conference as Bama.

From an outsiders perspective the Pac 12 seems to be putting emphasis on academics. I could see SMU joining since a lot of their school base comes from Cali (might be to small)

Baylor and TCU would want dibs as well

Oklahoma St and Iowa state would go Big 10

West Virginia to ACC

We hardly ever play UGA or Tennessee as it is. Once every 6 years or something?

I'd prefer to go 10 conference games, but they probably won't want that in favor of the cupcake home games.

I don't agree that it would be awful, but it certainly wouldn't be old school SEC anymore.
