A&M would throw a fit.

And just a brutal football division. Would be fun though with a bunch of wild fanbases

We would obviously vote against it. Not sure how much that would matter. The timing seems odd with the new TV deal just starting unless it can be immediately renegotiated

Would need to bump Alabama and Auburn to the east
This would make sense and would be helluva a fun thing to watch. Across multiple sports.

We absolutely would. But I feel confident in our ability to deal with them being in the SEC a lot better now than if this happened a decade ago

it would be stupid. You'd play Georgia at home once every 16 years or so.

Yeah, you do not want Texas in the SEC. Think Longhorn Network. Will say this though, if Texas ever learns how to leverage its monetary advantage and to control its boosters they could give Alabama a run for its money

It would pretty much guarantee that Ole Miss's streak of not making to Atlanta isn't ending anytime soon.

And we will see what happens. Baylor tech and TCU are gonna throw a bitch fit and we might help them if we really want to fight this

9 games would be a must, I think that will happen anyway

Would Texas get rid of the Longhorn Network though? I have no doubt the SEC would not allow them to have it.

That means 7 games against the other West team, 1 permanent opponent, and 1 rotating game.
So you are rotating 7 teams, so you play Georgia at home once every 14 years. Its too many teams, jesus they will chase every last dollar no matter the cost.

I have no clue. That doesn't expire until 2031 and while ESPN owns it and the SECN, I have no idea how they can just reconcile the two

If they added a conference game and stopped the permanent opponents it would be two matchups every 8 years for the other division.
Not adding a game and/or keeping the permament opponent would be dumb.

It would be fun watching the dominos fall if this were to actually happen. Would the Big 10 go after Kansas? Would the other Texas schools be attractive to the PAC? West VA to the ACC? What about the American? Could they scoop up enough to become a "power" conference.
It would be shitshow

Exclusive: Texas, Oklahoma reach out to SEC about joining conference

Texas and Oklahoma have been conference rivals since the Big 12 formed in 1996. But the schools could be moving to the SEC after inquiring about membership in the league, a high-ranking insider told the Houston Chronicle.
Texas and Oklahoma have been conference rivals since the Big 12 formed in 1996. But the schools could be moving to the SEC after inquiring about membership in the league, a high-ranking insider told the Houston Chronicle.
Texas and Oklahoma of the Big 12 have both reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the powerful league, a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday.
An announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league, the person said, which would give the SEC 16 schools and make it the first of a national super-conference.
Texas A&M exited the Big 12 nine years ago this month, and along with Big 12 ex Missouri gave the SEC 14 teams, which it has been at since. UT’s addition to the SEC would also mean the Aggies and Longhorns would again meet annually on the football field for the first time since 2011.
