It said the guy had wrecked. He could’ve easily been in the traffic lane when he got out of his car.

It’s midnight. Depending on how well lit the interstate is, you may not see them.

Because no “caring person” has ever hit someone at night walking on an interstate. Come on.

The occupants then exited the vehicle and proceeded to walk on the highway within close proximity to that vehicle,” Syracuse police said in a 9:51 a.m. news release. “An oncoming vehicle noticed the disabled car and tried avoiding the vehicle, which was in the middle of the road.”

Yeah, a stopped vehicle in the middle of the interstate. I'm sure he was expecting or could even tell it was completely stopped on an icy, rainy interstate at midnight.

Old age being a common one. 74 is old. Of course driving while old isn’t a crime.

Yeah, slow down.

That's something I watch for when I'm slowing down near a wreck.

Did Jim have his headlights on?

You gonna try to convince me that this guy walked into oncoming headlights?

Every day in Atlanta I see someone on the side of a busy highway (45-55) or interstate (55-70) tying down a load or changing a flat, etc. I know people have places to go and stuff, but limp to an exit or call for help, it's not worth the risk.

Are you going to try and convince me that you aren't going to run up on a car sitting in the middle of the interstate completely stopped?

It looks like I didn't read enough of the story :|

I didn't realize the guy was stuck in the middle of the highway.

I was about to say. I had to swerve off the interstate to the left because there was a car just sitting in the left lane with no flashers or anything at 7:30 in the morning. There was a car to my right, so I couldn't go that way. Scary as shite. If that person had been out of the car on the left, I'd have hit them for sure.

You should definitely edit that bullshite inflammatory click bait title as well. "Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim Killed A Man by accidentally striking pedestrian with vehicle" is accurate and not misleading, like this obviously and intentionally is

It’s complete BS that people do this.. but we are assholes for calling them out

It's factual true. What's this guy's deal?

Eh. The reports note it was not Boeheim’s fault.

Had Boeheim shot and killed an intruder the headline wouldn’t read “Boeheim kills Syracuse man.”

It would read, “Boeheim shoots and kills intruder during home invasion.”

There was light freezing rain all evening.
Turned to rain just before incident.
First crash probably lost control on ice.

I was a passenger in a car that hit a kid in Tuscaloosa in 2009. I still remember the glass shattering on me from the impact. He was stumbling drunk and tripping balls. We called the cops immediately and he survived, but I was fricked up about it for a long time. Started snorting blow and drinking a ton to numb myself about it. I feel for Boeheim and wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Same thing happened to Lamar Odom. He was a passenger in a car where his cousin accidentally killed a pedestrian. From that point he went off the rails.

For hitting a guy in the middle of the night on the interstate? Chances are the dude didn't have on a headlight or anything so unless Jim really fricked up and went over the line from pure incompetence, I can't imagine he will see a jail cell.

only if he was doing something extremely reckless at the time.

He might have been considering an offer from LeBron to coach the Lakers next year.
