a. why does it have to be a drive?
b. Steph has better shooting at the rim, iirc
Steph at the end of the Rockets playoff game had a wide open layup to cut it to 3...
That's embarrassing.
Why does driving the lane matter? Because when you need a bucket, jump shots are easier to take away than a drive. What makes KD such a valuable player even in today's game is that he is hard to stop going to the rim and can always get a shot off.

Plenty old enough to have watched the 3-peat, which was really pre-prime Kobe.

He could always create a shot. Steph does not have the size to create his shot whenever he wants it.
It's like you've never seen Steph play.

sure, for a mediocre long distance shooter like Kobe
not when your range is steph's range

well yeah he's better than Kobe or Steph

How will 2x MVP and future 4x NBA champion ever recover from missing a layup in game 3 of the Semi conference finals?!?!? How embarrassing!!!

Where do you have Kobe ranked, all time?

Surprised you have him behind Duncan. I agree, but most people here seem to think Kobe > Duncan.

Here are both players cumulative stats stopping at age 30. That way, people cant say I am including Kobes bad years. Also, all stats included for sms
Posted on 5/20/19 at 10:47 am to slackster
Kobe downside was he was incredibly selfish and was determined to be a winner but only on his terms.
Duncan more of a team first dude. Difference for me as their stats are anagolous

defensive environment was much tougher back then i.e league average regular season TS in 2001 was 51.8% compared to 56.0% this year.
also I prefer playoff data only
also those stats are mostly useless for comparison of measuring defensive impact which is continually getting ignored by Steph stans
regardless prime Kobe was #1 in ORAPM from 2002-2011, and his peak offensive APM (+6.0) is literally higher than ANY player of the post-Jordan era outside of LBJ

Playoff stats for kobe and steph up to age 30
In summary, Steph leads Kobe in the following category in the Playoffs for both players Prime:
points, rebounds, assists, fg%, eFG%, ws/48, and average VORP

Kobe was assisted on 34.7% of his 2s and 65.8% of his 3s.
Curry is assisted on 32.7% of his 2s and 62.1% of his 3s.
Tell me more about who can and cannot create their own shot...

Who is Steph’s peer as far as skill set?

i'm pretty pissed at my upvote/downvote ratio in OP. people should be jerking off my question rather than downvoting in the closet.

Kobe is the most overrated player in NBA history. Steph broke basketball. This is so easy.
