Larry Bird would take Kobe, I'm going with Kobe.

People in love with the last shite they saw. Oh wow, he warms up shooting from the tunnel with nobody in front of him.

Lets count the hard shots Steph takes down low? Man in his face. He's extended the court for sure to get shots off...but what about down in the paint for rebounds and put-backs like Bird and Kobe.

Long-range open shooting from a shrimp does not equal Kobe or Bird. If there was a scrum in the paint for the ball...and you had to bet your life for a put-back I'd take Bird. And I'd take Kobe over Steph all day everyday in that scenario.

Kobe’s size allows you to do different things on defense. Both are elite on offense. But please educate us on how “foolish” one side is

Best players on NBA Championship teams the last 15 years

Guards or wings- 10 (Billups, Wade, Kobe 2x, LeBron 3x, Curry, Durant 2x)
Bigs- 5 (Duncan 3x, KG, Dirk)

Unless Curry wins a title without Klay Thompson or KD, Bryant all day and every day. Steph has another historically great shooter in Klay Thompson to draw attention away from him. Kobe had shaq in the post. Nobody else on the wing

This is great. One of the greatest players of all time isn’t special. Jesus.

Steph is very good in his system. Put him on a team where he is the only real scoring threat and teams would knock him down a peg or two.

Steph is the system.

Tired of hearing about the "system". No system helps him make the shots he makes. And he's really good on the drive as well.

Here is a test on abilities vs system...

Put Steph on Kobe's Lakers in his place. Does he have the same impact that Kobe does?

Put Kobe on Steph's warriors... Does he have the same impact that Steph does?

Kobe would not be as effective as Steph on the current Warriors team, but I don't think Steph would be nearly as effective as Kobe was on the Laker's team. It's a much more stark difference for Steph on that Laker's squad.

Take away Klay Thompson (and KD) and Steph's efficiency's numbers will start to drop.

Exactly. Steph makes an offense elite the moment he steps on the floor.

Kobe was a great player, but there are a handful or two of players who could put up volume numbers just as impressive if they had the same disregard for their teammates as Kobe. Steph is one of those guys.

Great analysis. No hard data and proves absolutely nothing.

Well they'd have no SG, which would make for a horrible defensive matchup, but Steph's offense would be elite. Better than Kobe's. He's made those around him better every step along the way.

Whatever you think about that take, it pales in comparison to thinking Kobe is a top 3 player all time.

lol, that’s terrible.

This isn’t high school basketball. This isn’t the 80’s and 90’s NBA anymore where bigs were players you could build around.

It’s 2019. In the NBA, a great guard or wing is the player you build around. Bigs are a dime a dozen.

Just look at the current playoffs. Who are the best players on each team? Steph, Lillard, Kawhi, and Giannis. None of them are bigs. Who are the bigs on those teams? Looney, Kanter, Lopez, and Gasol.

It’s not a big man driven league anymore.
