I love the Pistol but give me a break with using this to support any kind of shooting argument.
True, but if he had the arc in college or earlier in the NBA I do believe he would have had one of the best shooting averages in history. And his college scoring records would even be more out of reach. There was not even a shot clock when he got those records.
And he was definitely comparable with any other player as most exciting to watch. The Jazz owned several single game attendance records in New Orleans though they were never a .500 team.

Yep. hate to see it happen this way, but it will be fun to see him try and carry a team.

Steph is a better shooter. Perhaps the best all time.
However, give me Kobe for these reasons
1) Better athlete
2) Very similar skill set to MJ
3) Better size
Most importantly:
Kobe is a killer like MJ. An absolute Junkyard Dog. He scrap, claw and kill to get the W, no matter the circumstance.
It’s Kobe all day for me

quote:This is the myth of the Pistol at its best. He shot 44% from the field at LSU, which don't get me wrong, that's pretty darn good when shooting 38 times in a 40 minute game.

On that type of volume, it's obvious that he had a better shooting % near the rim as players normally do, which would put his 3pt% even lower.
He would have been a guy who shot a ton of 3s and made them at an ok clip at best I'd guess. Not even because he wasn't a good 3pt shooter, but when you shoot that kind of volume and all of it off the dribble, there's just no chance he would have even been very efficient, much less one of the most efficient ever. His style would have made that impossible.

Steph should have made that last shot. Kerr drew up a risky play that worked and gave Steph a good look, not a great look but good enough that an elite player should have drained it in that moment.
Kobe, Jordan, Lebron, Bird would have made that shot.

How do you know that?

It's like most people forget that defense is a thing on the basketball court. The best thing Steph has going for him is his scoring and Kobe averaged more points in his career than Steph is at right now. Kobe all day.

Prime Kobe (06-10) would average 40+ ppg in this current era considering the increase in pace while also giving you very good defense on a nightly basis.
And he was one of the most durable stars in the league at that time, averaging 79 games per season and 39 minutes per game while during that time frame.

I'd pick kobe over Curry because bigger stronger and ankles.
Edited to erase the details of memory of gsw passing on Kobe to take Todd Fuller.
