people keep talking about things like

quote:

the rest of the game is basically hand-eye coordination

or

"its basically just skill"

Guess what....men are better at hand-eye coordination. Men are better at gross motor skills.

Im unaware of any sport that relies on fine motor skills.

Is your point that men are faster and stronger then women, captain obvious?

The only thing I can come up with is golf. Shorten the course to adjust for driving disparity,

Still wouldn't work. A lot of par 4s would be drivable for men and not for women. Club selections for men would be an advantage on approach shots, men using scoring irons and women using mid irons. Course set up would be another issue for women: fairway width, firmness, rough length, etc. You'd effectively need to play on a short par 3 course to maybe argue this, but PGA players are still better than their LPGA counterparts. Their average proximity to the hole is still going to be better. Men aren't just better because they're bigger and stronger. They're more skilled as well

You would have to judge differently. Floor and vault are the only two events that are the same and guys skill/difficulty is much higher.

I’d think with the same kind of training and dedication, there’s no reason a woman couldn’t become a world class jockey.

Jesus, pal. The entire point of the OP was to negate or minimize physiological differences and focus on execution and mindset.

Strength and speed are not the same thing as hand-eye coordination and mental fortitude.

Not everything has to be an argument. This isn’t the PoliBoard.

Are you serious? Strength is the reason jockeys are mostly men. There are a few decent female jockeys but that’s it.

men have better hand-eye coordination, better motor-skills, and better fast twitch muscles. It's not just being bigger and stronger. That is going to give them an advantage in any sport they play against women. There's just no way to even the playing field in any sport to make it "fair" and competitive.

This is a 3rd rail.

They aren't nearly as good as men, generally. And no one talks about it

They're not sports, but things like playing instruments would be and men are the best musicians as well

They aren't as coordinated or strong. Both things matter even if distance isn't as important. They also aren't as good at putting, I don't know why, but it is true.

Well, in the real world that's been proven not true.

Women have segregated tournaments for a reason.

But everyone tip toes around the disparity in performance acumen and ability and cites societal issues.

Netflix's entertaining series "Queen's Gambit" was based on a fictional novel.

Ultra Distance Swimming and Ultra Running

Swimming because they technically float better and that lets them spend less energy over long long distances

Where athleticism/physicality is actually a factor? Bowling is the right answer, a woman has actually won one of the 5 "majors" on the PBA tour.

Under the right circumstances, a woman might be able to make it in pro baseball as a contact hitter/slapper and play 1st base. Give one of the players on the US national rugby team elite hand eye coordination(99.999th percentile), a parent with college level coaching experience fully dedicated to raising them to be a baseball player and have them weight train their entire lives/start playing t-ball vs the boys at age 4 and move up, I think it could happen

Curling.

I thought that too.

But, I happened to watch a women's match right before a men's match and the speed with which the stones were thrown and the players were "skating" was noticeably different.

It made me wonder if even Curling was advantageous to men.
