That proposed 19 year old rule will never survive court scrutiny if it is passed. Age discrimination.
Just make it 5 in 5 with the clock starting when you enroll in school.

Jamie Howard did it as well, but I think he paid his own tuition (im texting him) to be on football team.

I never said it was new so I don't understand why that is being brought up. Why I mentioned that is it is yet another example of the hypocrisy of college eligibility rules. Just like allowing European pro basketball players to come over here to play the same sport. Seems like the NCAA is worried about professionals coming back to play in college...well, all the examples I have been given are professionals who got paid coming back to plays sports (same or different ones) in college.

Age used to be relevant. KState had a basketball player that came in after an stint in Army when Kruger and Richmond was there and couldn’t play after certain date due to age

I agree. The fact that they proposed a rule to eliminate exceptions that immediately had exceptions is absurd (I know, its the NCAA).
The NCAA just can't get out of their own way with some of these things.

Yep, once again, I never said it hadn't been done before. Geez, I guess I should have been clearer as to why I posted this. This is yet another example of the hypocrisy of the NCAA and schools who have never had problems with pro players coming back to college to participate. Hope that finally makes it clear. I remember all the examples listed so far of past players who have done that.
In fact, I was always hoping that Zach Lee would have pulled a Josh Booty. Baseball players who never did squat professionally and who were good QBs in HS that LSU signed.
