I’m just talking football because other sports really don’t matter. West Virginia has struggled to crack 7 wins since entering the conference.

Tulane needs to act now to use the Cotton Bowl to their advantage

When I was playing NCAA 11 the Big 12 invited my Tulane team to join.
So, that's what Tulane should do.

Obvious answer is yes to both, but the real question is should Big 12 pursue either or. ULL isn't realistic yet nor is any Sun Belt school at this time.
The Big 12 is currently scoping out PAC-12 schools so Tulane isn't on their radar yet, but if they can make another NY6 game and keep improving in basketball, it won't hurt their chances.

Why wouldn't he want to be the guy that is right?

Also not true
Neal Brown has struggled to crack 7 wins
Before him that wasn’t an issue, he’s been responsible for two of our three worst seasons in the Big 12

Would it kill you to just call them UL or GOD FORBID Louisiana
That's NOT the name of the fricking school!
Show me where the Louisiana Legislature has officially renamed it "The University of Louisiana."
The "University of Louisiana at Lafayette" is no more "The University of Louisiana" than "The University of Louisiana at Monroe" is.
It always will be the "The University of Southwest Louisiana" to most of us.
Just me personally, I prefer "Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette."
That's much more fitting with the actual stature of the school.

Now do Louisiana State University A&M @ BR.
Some people are too ignorant to understand that we are athletically branded as Louisiana. It is accepted on a national level, therefore we don't give a shite what Joe blow on tiger dropping calls us. On ESPN we are Louisiana. Game over. Cry, cry some more.

UL campus is beautiful. Stadium is great but needs a press box renovation. Keep dominating the SunBelt and they’ll get an invite to a bigger conference.

No. You’re too ignorant to understand you’re a fricking regional school. The only people the acknowledge you as Louisiana never heard of you until you put a piece of paper in front of them asking them to call you that.

UL is one of 3 R1 research universities in this state, along with LSU and Tulane, spending more research dollars than all other system schools, combined. 2nd largest university in the state. An endowment larger than all other system schools COMBINED.
Best athletic facilities in the state besides LSU. Football stadium is on deck for remodel.
We are LOUISIANA

If it is indeed such a national brand, why does its SID have to keep writing ESPN, et al, asking them to call them by this "branded " name? If playing on Thursday nites in front of 20K fans is a brand, you can call yourselves whatever you need for your ego to feel good.

The hypocrisy of this post is hilarious. And if you look at the official name (hint: it’s not “LSU”) of the school in BR, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Actually, we are now branded as a national school. But carry on.

USL got the death penalty because, under Shipley, they had 120 major violations, at the time, and mabe still, the most violations in the history of the NCAA. Too, USL filed & got an injunction allowing them to play in the tournament while the injunction was being heard in court. This was a big reason why they got the death penalty. They were guilty as hell, they knew it
Was only doing what every SEC football program has been doing for the past 25 years.

"What every SEC football program......" Repeat, a national record of 120 major violations. Even the past years' basketball scandals have had 3-4 mabe major violations. This wasn't a case of buying a player a meal, thousands of cash were involved, for the players, their families, other students being paid to take tests, new cars exchanged every few mths. The death penalty has been given out only a few times in the history of collegiate sports. In every instance the violations were extreme & well documented. But, sure, that Shipley brought the first black player, subsequently players, into La. basketball, that was a factor as well, at least inside La.

You going to tell me that hasn’t been happening for two decades with P5 programs? EL OH EL.
Yeah, USL and SMU were given the death penalty for violations that have been going on with the NCAA giving a wink and a nod to other programs.
