I think he was making a joke...

Actually I was partially serious, basing off of the Bears trading (2) 3rd round picks to the Dolphins for 27yr old WR Brandon Marshall. I thought it was (2) 4th rounders, but I just checked and it was 3rd rounders. The only "joke" piece is just the idea of the Chiefs being the rich getting richer, but they do have a need for a true #1WR.

Signing a WR or any position player to TOP end money that isn’t top end is flat out dumb. JChase is definitely worth it. But DK and probably a 2nd round pick PLUS a mega payday?? Nope.

Without looking at cap situations:

Chargers
Packers
49ers

All contenders that need a WR

Chiefs currently only have 6 total picks in the draft (0 4th round picks) and are right up against the cap while trying to resign a few free agents of their own. Certainly could make the room but a couple other teams out there that would gladly outpace that compensation for trade and on a new contract for DK

Easy there fun police.

Why wouldn’t you just give DAdams a two year deal at a MUCH lower number AND keep your picks.

Must be tired of wasting the prime of his career running routes for Geno fricking Smith.

He’s not exactly a great route runner. He’s a physical freak and deep ball threat. I agree he likely wasn’t utilized to his full potential with Geno, but I don’t think he’s an elite receiver either. Good player, will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Well sure one team could potentially do that, but there’s not 10 Devante adams to go around

Yeah that seems like boilerplate “start the bidding” language these things usually end up as conditional 3rds or 2nd rounders at best

Receivers talking about contenders I call BS. He's looking for a playoff caliber team....with a damn good QB. They all want stats.

- Texans for sure make the cut and have the need
- 49ers have to be a very attractive option, but inside the division Seattle could ask a steep price
- Chiefs need a true No. 1. If they solved the OT dilemna they could be unstoppable offensively with him, Worthy, Kelce and some combination of Juju/D-Hop or Hollywood on the field.
- Chargers probably the most WR needy team in the league in terms of how it could elevate them to a true SB Contender.

It will be one of these four

Rice easily looked like a true number one last year before Mahomes took him out.
