You are spot on. People are so focused on NIL deals, but there is nothing that can be done about that. It isn't going away. The most realistic option to "fix" college athletics is by way of the transfer rules.

That doesn't make sense that they should get a cut of jersey sales and products associated with their names, but not get a cut off of what makes their jersey and names sell...their game.

Bumper rails need to be in place, sure...but don't knock the kids being able to play the capitalism game that has played them for so long.

Nobody has a problem with this. The problem is its used as cover to pay players to come to certain schools. That makes the playing field unequal, and has always been against the rules.

But yet, all punishment wasn't the same. Do you think a team like San Jose State would receive the same punishment for the same offense as Bama?
That's the Problem.

Many former fans have already stopped watching CFB and CBB to some extent because of this bull shite. If this unstructured free for all continues, this trend will continue because frankly it’s less attractive from a fan perspective to watch.

So yes, I agree when tv viewership decreases, it’s a lose-lose and it’s already happening.

The former Alabama football coach is expected to be named a co-chair of an upcoming federal commission on collegiate athletics set up by President Donald Trump according to a report by The Athletic. Saban would be a co-chair along with a "prominent businessman with deep ties to college athletics."

So NS is one co chair. Who is the prominent business man that will be the other co chair? Im guessing P Manning.

This is where it went off the rails. Being able to transfer as many times as you want.

They have kids transferring 3 Times within a calendar year. It has to go back to one transfer then you have to sit a yr.

People really do not understand capitalism.
Your post certainly proves that.

This board is quite interesting though. More government bad unless more government good. Capitalism good unless capitalism bad. Free market good unless free market bad. Regulation bad unless regulation good.

If you can’t beat them accuse them of cheating. It’s a tale as old as time. Relax and see if things can be brought under control. Don’t let your insecurities control your thoughts.
