re: Rumors out there that Catholic High (football) is getting hammered by LHSAA today

Private schools "recruit" the entire student population.
The same reason your parents wanted you to go to the nice private school applies to the poor black kid in north br.
In my experience there, athletes weren't given grades. There were more scholarship kids not playing sports, and the ones that did play sports were some of the most well behaved students there.

This is what happens when you host BREC league games on your campus for a glorified recruiting event

I played football in high school against both Warrick and his brother. His brother played at Broadmoor. Then again, his brother wasn’t a college football talent so Catholic didn’t feel the need to, how were y’all saying it, “build a great man”.
So, effectively, if you are a black kid who is good at sports, you have to go to the public school. That is what you want, correct? Or do you want the rule to be private schools can only get kids 3 miles from Campus?

For example how often do schools with good education and safe environments lose kids to actual recruiting? How often does Mandeville lose kids for actual recruiting? How often does West Monroe lose kids going to St. Fred’s? Etc.
I get your point, but SF is actually doing this right now with junior high kids in the WM district.....and I don’t blame them

The lsupride87 melt will be real when the sanctions come out. Lol

His brother should have found other ways to make himself more valuable

I just think LA residents spend more time and effort caring about sports recruiting than they do the actual public schools education

I love these threads.
The lack of self awareness by CHS alum when they come running to white knight is humorous and makes my day.

Well, mostly lack of self awareness

Sure you can have my wand. But until the wand does it’s work and the public schools are shite you are going to have kids wanting to leave public schools and go to privates. Math kids, athletic kids, fat kids, skinny kids, white kids, black kids, etc
I think you miss my point. The root problem with public education in Louisiana is not in the schools, it’s in the homes of the students who go to the schools. That’s where you need to wave your wand.

Rumors out there
You need to come with at least ONE source or ONE allegation

I don’t care about this either. I’ve come to accept it. But it gets a little much when the CHS and JC white knighters proceed to tell me how they do it out of the goodness of their hearts and how they are building up black men and how the public’s are so wrong to point out the hypocrisy in it all.
Catholic could do all that same shite and offer scholarships to those kids that can barely spell their name and NOT have a bball or fball team.
But they don’t.
Just admit you cheat and play on an uneven playing field and most people will shrug and move on.

I don’t personally care either way.
But you seemed to be making the case that those seeking “football equity” were less moral than Catholic. I’m pointing out that Catholic is just the other side of that coin. They are seeking football results.
Some rules benefit the system at the expense of an individual. This is one example.

I don’t have a dog in the hunt. But like I said it makes it hilarious to read these threads.

Here is the thing as well. These “recruits” being taken out of North BR and given a proper education and chance to succeed is a huge net positive for everyone
Let’s use warrick dunn. If this board was around back then he would 100% have been considered a recruited player
So Dunn is given the opportunity to go to Catholic, which he credits as being the biggest influence on his life. He then goes on to lead a life where he helps 1000s of inner city minorities change their life
But frick that, for football equity Warrick should have gone to his shitty inner city school and been left to rot
Look, if you want to stop recruiting, make your school something that doesn’t need to be escaped
I’m a public school product, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t the best take I’ve ever seen on this topic.
