This is not necessarily true.
If you are on the birth certificate in most states you are PRESUMED to be the father, but you can rebut that presumption in many states with DNA evidence.
Some states have time limits though.

raising his best friends kids
This happened to a friend of mine from high school. He was a single dad instead of the woman who just wanted to keep partying. Found out around his "daughter's" 5th birthday that she wasn't his.
Absolutely wrecked him. Not sure he ever recovered.

At 3 pages of most dudes assuming this is true.
It may very well be true, but it's a random Twitter person with 300 follows who pays for his Twitter checkmark, I'd be a tad hesitant to run with that like it's a fact.
The person also said it was his wife, and they're not married, so the person tweeting that is already not fully informed.
Again, while it absolutely could be true and that random Twitter person is otherwise spot on, I just wouldn't assume it to be at this point.

I suspect some of the details are off but whenever there’s a complete lack of information, it leads to wild speculation. However if it was something like a medical condition, a family death, etc, it would be clarified as those aren’t considered embarrassing.
Just like whenever a young person dies, they are identified as people who courageously fought through Stage 4 cancer (or whatever other serious disease) or they died in a sudden and tragic car accident, but there is very little info if it’s an OD or suicide.

Unfortunately, yes. Moral failings do not negate property rights : /

You also have Curry saying some things are bigger than basketball. If it was a family death, there would be a record of it from funeral homes and obituaries. If it was a grave illness, we would see something like “the Warriors offer thoughts and prayers to our star player, Andrew Wiggins” on instagram.
I knew nothing about this but was actually thinking about how sometimes people leave public life and there is little track record of them and sometimes the people who are insiders say things about respecting privacy, etc.
I first thought of it because of March Madness and how the former head coach of Butler has no track record of anything after 2014. Then I remembered how the sports blogger who ran Sports By Brooks disappeared from the internet and how people would never say what happened to him but to respect his privacy.
Arik Gilbert is more visible but a similar example.

Read an article that said they aren’t married.
Maybe don’t start “families” with people who aren’t your wife and expect loyalty.
Shits terrible but people need to except their own portions of responsibility for taking part in corrupted versions of institutions.

you are not on TV and playing in front of 18k people that know you got cucked by your best friend.

Unless he’s just going to retire, he has to eventually deal with that.

What's even more sad is he's probably legally required to continue to support the kids and the woman.
Wouldn’t a paternity test fix that?

Supposedly on Gilbert Arenas' podcast last night everyone on the show said they knew the real reason Wiggins is out and the rumor isn't true but I have no desire to listen to Gilbert Arenas' podcast to confirm that.
If Wiggins comes back it would be huge for the Warriors. He was easily their second best player in the playoffs last year.

If they've been together 10 years but not married I wonder if she could argue that it was a common law marriage and still get her hooks into half his stuff.
If he walked out on her and the kids I would not blame him. He's not their father, they have a father, time for him to step up. I guarantee she and the boyfriend knew or at least had a very good idea the kids were not Wiggins and they've been hiding that from him for years. Sick people.

From now until the end of time they are mine.
I’m glad these kind of responses finally started being posted. I think most fathers at some point early on actually go through this hypothetical. Not because we actually doubt our paternity, but just to try to talk about the absolute, unconditional love you can have for another human being that you couldn’t comprehend before becoming a father.
I remember talking about it with my parents when my son was around 1. Now, there was obviously no real question that I was his biological father—they just wanted me to talk to them about a feeling they’d had since I was born that we were finally able to share, to relate to on that level. I said there was zero chance I could leave. I was his dad and would be forever no matter what. Now, I might have killed my wife and whoever she’d have cheated with.

The initial hurt would be crippling. And always be there on some level. But it wouldn’t be as devastating long-term as leaving. And yeah, it would suck to have to continue to deal with a woman that fricked up that could do that, but all the more reason to stay. The kid(s) would need me even more.
I hope this is just a rumor and hasn’t actually happened to Wiggins. But after reading that quote of his, I can’t imagine he could walk away. He should actually sue for full custody.

Posts like this that make it all seem like responsibility is mainly a financial issue are hopefully coming from non parents.
I’m not sure where the line is, but if you could leave a 4-year-old little girl that you love as much as Wiggins quote suggests he does his, then you’re probably a POS.

He can still be a part of the kids lives but raising them as his and being their father would be a lie. They have a father that exists that they know and has apparently been around them their entire lives if he's a family friend.
Would it hurt? Yes. Would you still love the kids? Yes.
It's an extremely F'd up situation.

A woman who will sleep with your friend, and a friend who will sleep with your woman, both go in the trash human category.

He can still be in her life, but there's also something to be said for understanding this is a completely insane situation. Friend is the actual dad, and could easily sue for custody.
