And Wiggins has been raising his best friends kids.

He's not played in over a month and the Warriors have been quiet about it, Steph just saying it's hard but life is bigger than basketball.

Very sad if true and you can understand the emotional toll. But people frequently don’t get this much time off work for family deaths etc. He must really be messed up if he can’t even play basketball for a month

Can you imagine finding out the kids you were raising weren't yours? Add that on top of your wife betraying you with your best friend? I wouldn't be good for a while.

What's even more sad is he's probably legally required to continue to support the kids and the woman.

And she’s likely entitled to half if he divorced her

Totally agree…but even if that happened most people wouldn’t be able to skip work for a month to deal with it. And when work is basketball some people might even want to play to work through some of the pain.

If this is what happened it must be tough because he probably still loves the kids and it’s not their fault … yet they are a constant reminder of double betrayal.

We work real life jobs. Sucks for us.

I do feel my company would be open to allowing me whatever time I needed to sort this out, and we have a system where people can donate PTO to someone who's going through a tough time like a death in the family. I won't bemoan the obvious that professional athletes have it better off than we do.

Correct. Average Joe isnt a pampered multi million dollar athlete. Rules are different. As much as we'd like to relate to our "idols" we have very little in common with them. Sadly it takes the negatives in their lives for us to humanize them.

I certainly can’t speak for Wiggins, but when I was going through a separation/divorce, I was much better off going to work to keep my mind occupied.

idk how old the kids are, but I can't imagine I would just stop giving a frick about them.
What a fricked up situation. "Friend" is a real POS

Read an article that said they aren’t married. Maybe this will save him for having to give her half his money. Especially if he proves through DNA it isn’t his kid.

If not married it sure as hell better release him of most financial responsibility. Absurd

ETA: I would also suggest that if they weren’t married, Wiggins don’t for a reason and refused to absolutely accept that

What if both kids are under 2? I'm outta there. It's too messy and complex and Wiggins is young enough and rich enough to start over with someone else.

He shouldn't have to stick around because this woman is a hoe and messed up a potentially great thing. It's her responsibility to account for the damage it does to the kids and her job to face the consequences. Maybe in another era I would've had a different opinion.

this is significantly worse than a parent/grandparent/spouse death imo

I think for a lot of men that would be easier said than done.

At two years old, if you would have told me my daughter wasn't mine, I couldn't imagine a scenario where I could have walked away from her. Same thing for my son.

From now until the end of time they are mine.

At 2? You think they'll remember you that well? They won't and you'll have to continue to involve yourself with a deeply troubled woman.

absolutely

separation trauma can happen when they are infants, trauma in general can happen in the womb

they might not remember specifics but having a caregiver/parent figure leave them at an early age will be with them for the rest of their lives

Even if infidelity is proven? Probably a dumb question…
