Robert Kraft angered and perplexed that Jerry Jones was inducted into the HOF before him

No current owner has tried harder to get into the Hall -- or been denied longer. Beginning in 2012, Kraft's supporters have lobbied Hall voters on his behalf. Eddie DeBartolo Jr., the former San Francisco 49ers owner, was inducted in 2016 despite losing his team in 2000 because of his connection to an extortion case. DeBartolo has five Lombardi Trophies; Kraft, at the time, had four. Some Hall of Fame voters assured the disappointed members of Kraft's inner circle that he would be next.
Jerry Jones was inducted in August 2017. The Dallas Cowboys owner threw himself a glitzy party in Canton, headlined by Justin Timberlake. Back in Foxborough, Kraft and his supporters reacted to Jones' induction with anger and confusion. They seethed that Hall voters didn't seem to appreciate Kraft's work to grow the league through media and labor deals, and the Patriots' unparalleled dynasty.
Kraft saw the selection of his archrival as an insult, a verdict that Jones is more responsible for the NFL's astonishing success.
"He hasn't been to the NFC title game in two decades and he gets in?" Kraft told a confidant. "How does that work?"

The man has a hell of a point. Kraft took a dead, loser franchise that played in a glorified HS stadium and turned them into a crown jewel franchise that went to SBs under multiple HCs and surpassed the SB victories of 'nfl royalty' franchises like the Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Giants, and 49ers in only 20 yrs.
He was also supposedly integral in ending the 2011 Lockout.
Add that to the fact Eddie D, a literal criminal and glorified gangster, was voted in and it's kind of irrationally nuts.

Blatant cheaters tend to have a hard time getting into HOFs.

Is he that stupid? They aren’t going to induct him soon after his happy ending scandal. Is that retarded? Absolutely but it’s obvious as shite

Yeah it would be different if pics of Jerruh with hookers had made the rounds a few years earlier.

A little different than getting caught up in a human trafficking sting.

Jerry would trade his HOF spot for Kraft's rings in a heartbeat. I think Kraft is in the better spot here.

It is a headscratcher. Of course, owners being in the HOF seems a little weird unless they did something to change and elevate the game like Paul Brown. Just being rich and owning a good team for a while, shouldn't be a qualifier.

I'm not necessarily against owners being in the Football HOF. However, once they started inducting owners who were 1. alive and 2. currently owned the team at the time of induction you get situations like this. Make it so that owners need to either sell the team (or sell majority ownership and be a minority owner) or you're dead.

kraft right, but handling it poorly
this is sure to get the voters on his side

What's his contribution to the game? Hiring Bill who drafted Brady?

It’s always comical to me how much those two despise each other

He literally saved the franchise. They were on their way to St. Louis before he bought the team.

Jerry Jones was inducted into the HOF for the same reasons Phil Knight was inducted into the basketball HOF.
They sold the game and grew its fans and profit margins.

JJ wasn't inducted for SBs. He was inducted because he completely changed the marketing of the game and grew the total dollars exponentially for all owners.

Worth noting that Jerry and Pat Bowlen (who's also in the HOF) were integral in upping the ante of media deals by bringing FOX to the table before Kraft even bought the Patriots.
At the time, the NFL was content with accepting cut-rate deals from the big three networks. CBS claimed they were actually losing money on the NFL. That changed when Jones and Bowlen got involved.
