Jimbo just is not the program manager on Saban’s level he thinks he is….seems the more he loads up on his guys in a locker room, the program begins to implode. That’s on him and his lack of ability to hold guys accountable, his first wife emasculated him and he’s never recovered.

People said I was nuts around signing day when I said Jimbo has proven he couldn’t manage the type of locker room that comes with a number 1 recruiting class.

A&M is in a bind though. There is blood in the water now and once that happens you can’t come back from it. The SEC is too competitive and too dirty for the ship to righted once these kinds of issues pop up. Recruiting will be near impossible for them outside of the strictly money guys, which is only going to exacerbate the issue.

A&M was just stupid and loud about it, to where every recruit had their handout for a pay day.

BK and co. may have started slow but they clearly preferred having a plan and controlled chaos in the NIL era vs A&M running around like a virgin in the red light district

You still have to recruit players who actually want to play for your school. TAMU couldn't even meet that bare minimum threshold.

Literally just paid a bunch of mercs who DGAF about TAMU or Jimbo.

Do you mean the one who extended him after only 4 years into a 10 year contract?

Saban can bring in highly regarded from all over the country that know they have to bust their arse to earn their spot in the program, A&M brought in guys that felt like they’re doing them a favor merely by showing up to campus.

Nil has no clause you gotta stay loyal, or contractually obligated to stay... which is why it's dangerous to do what A&M did

Are you serious? Holy shite. I thought at the very least these NIL deals from boosters and their businesses would have clauses in them about transferring, staying eligible, and staying out of trouble; like if you leave you have to pay $X amount back or you do something dumb and get suspended you get reduced by $X. But damn if what you say is true they hold all the cards with zero consequences, if it doesn’t work transfer to the next school and land another deal.

They didn't put in clauses like those for the coach, why would they think to put them in now?

But at least if a coach really fricks up, he can get fired with cause and his buyout canceled.

Even if the dipshits at Aggy hadn't given Jimbo the extension, he would still be owed $38M fully guaranteed AFTER this season.

Why any school would ever willingly hire Scott Woodward is beyond me.

I actually think there's a chance they lose 7 games and it happens after this season.

Woodward hired Jimbo which was a good move at the time. He did not give him that stupid unwarranted extension, that was their current AD.

Dumb illegal stuff on University property in a building that you allegedly assist in supervising. Is it nitpicky, yes. But it is a way to show cause. To be honest, I am sure they would be able to negotiate it down and restructure the contract

fricking your current coach out of his contract is a great way to get a big name replacement

For real, even if true, players smoking weed in a lockeroom does not qualify firing your head coach for cause

From what I've heard, none of them do. So that's why it's crazy...
