Rays will likely pitch Rasmussen tomorrow night and if he’s on and they get enough offense, the day off on Thursday would play huge for any potential rays comeback.
Either way, the brewers are obviously very much in the driver’s seat.

Would be happy with either team winning. Lean to the Brewers because of Uecker. Glad it wasn't a sweep.

I have never understood or had it explained to me why guys throw to first and make them grab a short hop, instead of just firing it directly into the glove. Unless physics are no longer a thing, that "bounce it in there" approach actually takes more time...never mind making the play exponentially more difficult to make.

Well #1 he didnt bounce it on purpose, hence the term "error".

Secondly, there are times when a fielder will intentionally use the turf on longer or off balance throws but the technique there is deliver a long hop. The worst hop you can deliver ia rhe in-between hop which is what ortiz threw him last night. Ortiz should not play in the field again this series.

Here’s a clip of a fielder purposely bouncing a ball because the sun was in the second baseman’s eyes

I didn't realize he got an error for that. But on the second part you're still not answering the question. WHY would you skip the ball in instead of just throwing it directly into the glove?

In the case where someone intentionally uses a long hop throw they do it because they dont have time to set their feet and make a normal throw, the ball is taking them away from target and speed of the runner wont allow a normal throw, they know the runner is fast and a long throw on the run hanging in the air wont get there in time tonget the runner.

That is not what happened last night with the ortiz throw. It was an error. He intended to throw it to the glove in the air and made a bad, nervy throw and gave bauers an in between hop.

Wait, so you're suggesting that the ball hitting the ground will get there faster than the ball flying through the air? As I was saying, unless physics is no longer a thing, that's impossible. Grass has more resistance than air.

There’s a key variable you’re missing here mate

Grasping at every straw you can. I’m honestly impressed you didn’t somehow work the Yankees into your post. Brew Crew take it tonight.

Not saying it’s going to turn out the same, but this is reminiscent of the ’04 ALCS. The home team wins the first two, then goes on the road and absolutely bludgeons the home team in game 3 to the point where there isn’t a realistic possibility of them losing the series. Then game 4 happens, with the team down 0–3 scratching and clawing its way to a 12-inning win.

or is it the 1970 World Series, Orioles over Reds in Game 1-3 with a blowout in game 3, followed by losing a close game to the Reds and then finishing the job in game 5
