Rashee Rice’s attorney makes a powerful statement

A powerful statement from #Chiefs WR Rashee Rice’s attorney Royce West:
In all my lifetime, that maybe the worst statement I have ever heard from an attorney
I mean, frick if he actually did what he is accused of, the focus should be on every other incident in his life that has nothing to do with this
I actually double checked to make sure it wasn’t a spoof
quote:
“Why don't you do a story of who he is, as opposed to what occurred? Because it seems as though what you're saying is based on this one incident, you're going to define him based on this incident, as opposed to his entire body of work. I would say each and every one of you, if all of us had to be defined by one incident, that would be ridiculous, as opposed to our entire body. So I'd ask that you as the media, look at his entire body of work before saying exactly who he is. That will be better.”

I can't tell if this is his attorney's statement or First Take the morning after CFP rankings

This guy is a state senator in Texas as well:
Don't know if representing someone racing through traffic doing triple digits really follows that public safety stance
I wonder if he'd be still saying that statement if that accident killed someone like it surprisingly didn't.
Imagine Henry Ruggs' attorney saying this
quote:
As a State Senator, I have been a leader on issues regarding K-12 public education, higher education, criminal justice, public safety, healthcare, and business

Royce West is an idiot that’s never once uttered an intelligent phrase, but for some reason has connections.
He’s a low level politician and attorney, but has powerful clients.

Disgusting response by his attorney.
I can't stand when someone commits reckless behavior and people feel the need to defend them as a person. It's offensive towards the people who were affected by their actions.

The client took full responsibility for the accident. This is merely damage control.

John Doe was a great guy all his life until he murdered his wife. Think of his life work instead if you want to make an opinion on him.

That so on brand for “black guy lawyer” lol

As a Chiefs fan I watched his press conference and it was embarrassing. Rice could've easily killed several people and this attorney acted like all he did was jaywalk. I don't think his playing career should be over but he deserves several game suspension.

Wellllll. I get in this argument a little with my wife lol
One time I forget to take the trash out and she gets pissed. But I respond “what about all the other items I DID take the trash out” lol

Royce West is one of the many reasons South Dallas has the issues it has. He is an absolute disgrace.

I think he missed an opportunity to cap this off by saying Rice is the real victim here

In other words, personal responsibility falls further down the list. However, personal responsibility also comes down the money you have and the people you know, which is why people don’t really care about it anymore.

no kidding
none of good things you did in the past is relevant to the question of if you committed a crime today

This statement fits/works later on down the train of the media coverage a few months from now. Not now. Needed to keep it simple. Sometimes clients push you to say more then what’s necessary or maybe the moment was to big for the guy and it was “ to big a deal” in his head. Needed to play it cooler at first. Let it die. The statement of him driving may not have even been needed yet.

Sounds like Saban defending Alabama players.
