what's really lol worthy is the fact that after all your bitching, you still lost the fricking game when Matt Ryan walked over and handed the ball to your players twice, and Hooper handed the ball to your players on a simple pitch and catch.

Love the ‘ratings’ comments. Feel free to show me all the other games this year that were fixed for ratings later in the season. Surely there would be fixing going on to boost ratings for all prime time games right. Or is it just this one game?

“Oh yea I remember one. The bad grounding call on cousins was so the saints could win So they would have a good record when they went to Atlanta. For ratings.”

Yep, and we had several of them go against us. I really can’t remember a NFL game that was called so horrendously against one team. I’d like to know what completely unbiased fans thought about the game. People that had no skin in the game. Were there any threads on Reddit about this? I don’t frequent the site so I have no idea.

Yeah, a coach running on the field never gets called. Last time I can remember that happening was.....what, almost a whole day ago?

If you believe all this horse shite you gotta believe that the NFL fixed the super bowl for the saints the year they won it huh. Or is it only when things don’t go your way that we blame someone else.

Im not naive. There were games during that "magical" run that were influenced by the officials.

I dont just watch Saints games. I usually watch as many games as I can. This year I have watched maybe 3 games because I have just been too busy. This shite officiating happens very often in numerous games every single season. This is not inept officials that dont know the rule book, or had bad angles and couldnt see. The speed of the game is used as an excuse and its BS.

There are enough of them out there to make the right call. Not only that but we have instant replay where they still get the shite wrong. Now tell me how that makes any sense?

An entertainment business gets its money from TV contracts. No one would pay billions the NFL if the games didnt have have drama. Look how many games come down to the final minutes or seconds. How many teams are in the hunt for the playoffs etc. Its all to generate interest and money. Thats the bottom line. $$$$$

I've only seen 4 sporting events that I legitimately thought were dirty.

1. Super Bowl XL. I hate Seattle as much as anyone but they got donkey dicked by the refs in that game. Seattle got 2 TDs taken off the board by extremely questionable (to put it kindly) calls.

2. 2006 NBA Finals. Dallas was clearly the better team and then Miami, specifically Dwyane Wade, was gifted a shitload of free throws on some really ticky tack fouls. Dallas ran them off the court in the first two games and led by 15 or so late in Game 3 and then the phantom whistles started.

3. 2002 WCF Game 6. Without reading 6 pages of this thread, I'm guessing this one has been discussed ad nauseam.

4. 1997 NLCS Game 5. That strike zone was fricking shameful for Livan Hernandez.

I don’t the games are “fixed” or intentionally influenced by the NFL.

I do think the NFL game is grossly over-officiated and that the refs are instructed to err on the side of throwing the flag on anything remotely resembling a penalty.

And this for me is the biggest reason why I’ve lost interest in the NFL game over the years. Almost every good play, particularly on defense, results in a flag and to me that just isn’t fun to watch.

If it was fixed then by failing to admit it they would be committing fraud. There is no way they could hide that on such a scale without someone blowing the whistle, some slip up. Some ambitious prosecutor or Senator or DA would have built a career off exposing it. Not to mention Vegas would not take bets, they can and do often lose money on a given weekend

It would be perfectly leagal to “fix” the outcome (see wrestling) so there is literally no reason the lie about it. You take coincidences like the Saints winning 4 years after Katrina but ignore other things that would disprove your theory. For example why has Dallas, the top brand in the NFL only won 1 playoff game in 20 years. Why did San Antonio fleet Tim Duncan? it’s fun to believe on conspiracies and dark forces controlling everything but there’s no way “they” could get away with it. People are not that smart

1. An nba ref was caught.
2. Ncaa hoops players were caught.
Nyu and long island dropped hoops for a while there.
The kentucky center was blackballed from nba. Played aau with okie oil team. Connie hawkins was also blackballed nba. Starred pittsburgh aba.
Rose.
What are the odds those are the only cases?
I saw a phantom foul called vs depaul in tight game against eventual undefeated marquette with 4 all star pros. Dumbassery led coach to skip ncaas and win nit instead. Didnt like being sent to minnesota for 1st round.
I digress. Yes, sports are sometimes fixed.
Usually its just incompetence.
Halo effect is real. My DePaul Marquette example could have been halo effect.

My team won, so no salt here. But I cannot fathom how any sane, rational human being who watched the SECC couldnt recognize a hand in the officiating of that game. It still amazes me that our guys didnt just give up after the 1st half

I get your frustrations with the calls and would have screamed the same thing if they were the other way around. However, outside of the roughing the passer call, I can't think of any calls that weren't replayed to show an infraction. Maybe Auburn got away with infractions that weren't called, but I don't buy that Georgia did nothing wrong to warrant getting those flags.

But Auburn winning would have made it more difficult for Alabama to get into the CFP. It would make more sense for the SEC to influence the game in Georgia's favor for money purposes.

Further, Vegas knew something about Georgia that day and moved the line in your favor. Auburn was up by 30 just three weeks earlier before a late, late touchdown and at best was a pick-em by kickoff. How did Vegas know?

And the game was a 6 point contest in the 4th. Auburn was marching down the field before KJ's fumble. Easily could have been a 1 point game with a last minute drive by Georgia making it a close "pick-em" game like Vegas predicted. And Vegas would have won a lot of money in that scenario if Georgia scored as a lot of the public bet went to Auburn.

So again, how did Vegas know to predict the game that accurately?

The NFL attracts its fans on the basis that every team wins or loses) games based on the plays made on the field. It doesn't advertise itself as fake drama like wrestling.

To admit that they are fixing games for drama would directly contradict what the league is founded on. This would turn at least half, if not more, fans away from the sport.

Then take into account all the gambling on the NFL. If they admit to fixing games, they would be admitting to screwing over millions of people.

So your premise that "if they fixed it, they would just admit it" is borderline retarded.

Winning a SB 4 years after a natural disaster is now a coincidence? Boy that's a stretch.

I found a lucky penny in 2013 and two years later I met my wife. Thank God I found that penny.
