Europeans and Saudis know that college football tradition and following is like football overseas. They buy stake in teams and I suspected the same kind of ownership with football with NIL when it came onboard due to the zero salary cap.
Some saudis or Chinese will soon own the crimson ride

The corruption will be beyond anything we could imagine.

There was no way keeping the door shut. There was absolutely no way the schools could legally defend saying kids couldn't market themselves and get paid. The fact that y'all seem to think there was any way the players weren't going to eventually win their right to get paid is astounding.

Lasry says certain colleges could sell a 51% stake in their teams at a $500M to $750M valuation and then use that money for NIL and facility upgrades.
Yeah, just like a normal VC. He wants 51% and the school will have to use all of the money the VC gave them to make the VC more money. All the while the school has lost value. Then the. c can swoop in and take an even larger share.

Screw the simps that pushed so hard and never considered the mountain of unintended consequences that were obvious to everyone else.
It’s the same group that thinks the portal is cool, loves bowl game opt outs, and craves super conferences.

Honest question. If someone “buys” LSU athletic program in 2026, how does attendance change? Let’s say in 2027, we see a small uniform ad, how many break then? In 2028 we get a new hoops arena named after said corporate sponsor. In 2030, only Tiger Stadium has retained a non-sponsor name.
I’m just curious how many would ACTUALLY jump ship. How many empty seats would we be looking at? Because with everything going on now, the tickets are still sold.

Um... they screw up everything they buy...
Got a good restaurant chain you like? Well, too bad... a private equity firm bought it and now it's gonna suck.
They'll frick up college football as well. I say No Thanks.

You’d think the smaller conferences would hop on this train first… they need the money more

Private equity sucks up all the money it can and then casts aside everything it touches. As bad as things are with NIL and the portal, this would actually legitimately destroy college athletics.

Nobody "owns" Texas A&M football other than Texas A&M. This dickhead is talking about private equity pukes having majority control of your favorite school's team. If those leeches gain control the sport will be driven into the dirt w/quickness.
To be fair, college football is doing that well enough on their own.

Yep, that’s exactly what people want to see

Might as well get product endorsements popping too, like the Alabama Tampax Crimson Tide.

shite like this is why too many people are cheering an assassin in NY. It’s two inevitable conclusions to how shite is trending.
