This really was a dumb question...like asking current Rosanne or Heather Locklear in her prime

I agree that Vick in today's league with a better suited offense would have been much better.

But for people acting like their talent aren't even close. Take a look at their stats and compare. Lamar is the real deal. Vick just did it first, obviously. That doesn't necessarily mean he's the better player.

And this is coming from a kid who only started watching NFL football because of Vick. My first NFL game was watching Vick, and he had like a crazy 45 yard touchdown run. I had the Vick black jersey and white jersey.

Put Vick in these modern offenses with flag football rules and he’d be pretty much unstoppable.

Arm talent is not even in the same universe. Vick could sling it with anyone who ever played, Jackson is only serviceable throwing it because he can run.

Well yea Vick could launch a football 100 yards down the field no problem. He's not nearly as accurate as Lamar however.

He was a lot more accurate actually just different systems and rules.

this thread is INSANELY overrating michael vick which is odd because when he was playing, he got trashed constantly. this is classic rose colored glasses on a player from the past.

look, i loved michael vick, but he was incredibly inaccurate. the pure talent is insane, but so is lamar's, no? projecting how he would do in today's NFL is silly, but it's the only possible way you could pick him over lamar. there is zero evidence that he's actually better without having to resort to something like that.

do you also get zero off field issues somehow? so just a completely made-up person?

Vick's career completion% was 56%. He played in the 00s & 10s, not the 60s and 70s.

Some questions you should have to put your age in the your response. 40. Lamar is the better player and person. Who knows what vick would could should have done. Lamar has already surpassed him.

Vick would have done in both college and the NFL in a modern offense

The counter to that is that modern defenses are much more adept at handling mobile QBs.

His completion percentage in Philly was 59.5. I don’t thinks it’s crazy with the way playcallers scheme passes today that he could easily be closer to league average. The shovel passes, slip screens, and RPOs we see so much of would be easy to inflate that. The other problem with Vick is that he didn’t study the playbook in his ATL days. He went out there to play backyard football.

Vick never had a RPO option. Lamar gaa surpassed what i thought he could do but Mike with the play calling today would be crazy and his % would be much higher imo.

All of that said he would need a coach to know what he is doing and other players to be built around the O.

Kind of like Mahomes, his coach and skill players take him to another level. Players are running free all over the field.

Everyone is acting like Vick played in some long forgotten era. 2001-2015. He came into the league with Tom Brady and drew brees. Y’all are basically arguing Andruw Jones vs trout and saying that Andruw is better, if he played with juiced balls, and worked on his strike zone, and hustled after his big contract. That may be true, but that’s simply not a guy who ever existed

Prime Vick never had any interest in working on his game. Jackson all day.
