Penn is way up after hours with the ESPN deal

Well this explains why I got a random notification that draft Kings stock was way down today.

They were originally the ones rumored to be partnering with ESPN.

ETA sounds like ESPN came to Penn and they realized they could get more branding and exposure, so they offered barstool back on the cheap.

Why would anyone want to connect themselves with the dying entity that is ESPN

Huh? You mean the entity that has NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, SEC, etc broadcasting rights?

Monday Night Football averages 13 million viewers a game, are you saying you wouldn't want that many people seeing advertising and exposure for your gaming app?

I know it's their top podcast but PMT would be well served to take a whole summer off or something.

Honestly the off-season pods are as entertaining as the others.

The chance to partner with ESPN was too big of a chance to pass up.

What do you think his job is other than to be bad at his job and post it online? You’re overthinking this baw

If he were bad at his job, you wouldn’t know who he is. His job is the be entertaining to people who consume Barstool. Whether he does that intentionally or unintentionally, they don’t really care.

It's more of a sign that they are back to anything goes, rather than truly valuing Mintz. And of course driven by Dave's ego that he is in charge again.

Good. The gambling stuff was annoying as hell.
i doubt it’s going away. Just the partnership.

I wonder how many degenerate gamblers Barstool is partially responsible for.

His job is to entertain. And entertaining he is not.

ESPN Bet or ESPN BET?

One is about gambling and the other would involve bringing certain race baiting ex employees back.

Agreed.

I'll take summer PMT over the Sunday night post-NFL Sunday pod any day.

One thing I've noticed in recent years, especially with BigCat, they keep doing more and more real football analysis with less and less jokes mixed in. I could be wrong, but it feels like even their football recaps and discussions used to be 75% jokes but now they're doing wayyyyy too much real football talk for my liking.

He gets a reaction, he's doing his job well enough.

For every person that says he's terrible, the only way you know that is if you have watched him enough to form that opinion. With the key part of that last sentence being "you watched him."

I thought I was the only one.

I have not been listening to PMT as much as I used to as my interests have just diverted.

But I thought the Sunday pod covering every team was fun at first, but now its just a snore fest

Right. People like watching trainwrecks. They love watching people make fools of themselves, or be totally oblivious to being unintentionally funny. Mintz does that.

He's a good guy too.
