They called a TO with 2:03 left instead of letting it go to the two minute warning. Then the Eagles were able to run off 35 seconds on the next play after the two minute warning because the Pats called their final TO with 2:03 left.

Yeah, Brady and Foles both played great. Defenses looked terrible. Which is especially surprising in a game with almost no penalties called.

But the Eagles would have had 2nd down instead of 3rd down, so they could have run the same amount of clock either way

Pats saved time by doing that. It changed very little but saved a few seconds.
OL wore down for Pats and Brady had little chicane there.

By calling the TO before two plays were done prior, one would have been after.
Saving it means one play is called before the warning, two after
It would have been the same result time wise
