This is getting out of hand and I hate what this has become……

I cannot fathom the absolutely retarded shite I would have done in HS with 20k a month.

The NCAA is going to fold. Starting with UK going all in on the LLC, athletic programs are going to branch out from instituations and become profesional agencies. This is not sustainable.

99% chance I woulda been dead.

the schools are greedy and this should have been done a long time ago! they said
these kids DESERVE it! they said
sure hope yall enjoy this dystopian hellscape of a sport we're left with now.

reason 10 I am done with big time college sports.

I think I’m ok with this. Move past the whole “oh this kid picked us bc he likes our tradition or WR coach.”
Isn’t the whole point of doing collectives to avoid any flimsy authority the NCAA still has to punish a school? Let collectives sign contracts and PAY these kids according to a contract and if they fail to live up to them, go sue them.
Seriously, I’ve always been a pay the players guy for college, but I’m also a go get your money back if they breach the contract guy.

Sorry, I forgot only a few teams are allowed to pay players.

All I know is I’m never giving a cent towards NIL
Looks like they more than do not need it

The last three years, I’ve seen my interest in CFB slowly decline. It’s been dead for CBB for a while now, but March Madness will always have an appeal.
As for football, I used to hate the idea of missing ANY big game in Saturday. Then it got to where I only cared about LSU. Even that is fading away.
The athletes don’t give a shite about the school. They don’t walk the same halls we did. They don’t chow down next to you in a dining hall. They don’t struggle through a test the same way we did. A huge chunk of football and basketball players aren’t real students. But hell, lets give them some course credits, chef prepared meals, premier training facilities, private academic instruction, constant promotion on social media. It’s great for the game…

everyone is allowed to legally pay players now. And what we have as a result is the OP, where you're paying thousands per month just to beg on your knees to keep them from leaving.
What rational person with a functioning brain thinks this is how college athletics should operate?
Posted on 5/28/25 at 6:45 pm to Yaboylsu63
I have stopped caring about college sports entirely
No more

Barbados,
Do you give a lot before NIL?
Are you one of those “my mandatory TAF season ticket fees counted as a donation, or I’ll buy a $400 brick with my name on it once every 15 years guys?”
No judgement. I’ve never given lsu a dollar more than face value of a ticket or my tuition. Just sayin lets not pretend you were T. Boone Pickens out here b4 NIL

Kirby is the kind of guy that 1 single 5 star might get paid $7k to not decommit while the others don't have the clout to be able to do that, then it upsets Kirby, so he gets on the mike with an ambiguous statement of quantity of players receiving this implying that it's all of them, but it's really just 1 of them, and then the same thing as the 4 lb bass that by stories later was a 12 lb bass, rounds that $7k up to $20k a month. I could be wrong, but I see Kirby being an NIL Doomsdayer, and there's probably some exaggeration going on here. But who knows as none of this stuff is made public, which it should be if fans are donating. Fans should absolutely know amount to each player if it's their money donated.
