It's even worse than the SJW stuff that drove me from being a regular viewer. I tried to watch some of the game today and off the top of my head there were two godawful calls: personal foul on Jags after a fumble pile up and pass interference on the Dolphins in their end zone. Games have no flow at all.

Flags should be thrown if the play violates the spirit of the rule not the letter, e.g. if a defender catches the QB's helment incidentally that shouldn't be a personal foul (see Trey Hendrickson on Derek Carr last MNF)

Shame. I’ve noticed the exact opposite so far this year. Looks like we’re back to normal.

1. frick the kneelers

2. Football is being ruined because too many rule changes are put in place to aid the offense.

Flags are way down so far this year. We were just commenting on that while watching the game tonight.

do you not understand that half the players on the field are trying to get away with breaking some rule at every second during live plays? Almost nothing is "incidental". Even if it's incidental, it probably happened bc the player was trying to get away with something else. Read up on all the little things players do that you can't see.

Shouldn't have to read up on it if you've ever played football.. Its kinda common sense. The point is if a d lineman is being pushed while blocking a ball and smacks a helmet that he can't see, it shouldn't be a call. Just like if a receiver is in good position to block for his fellow receiver and the defensive player just doesn't fully turn around. Half the time those blind side blocks are called when the receiver is already in the spot and the defender just isn't looking while running at them.

so they can pretend to be like the real big boy thugs who rape and murder by being edgy about breaking rules in their ingrown little world

Yeah, and you can add in the onside kick rules and PAT changes.

I understand the onside kick, you're trying to limit collisions (which is funny in a collision-based sport), but the PAT rule is just retarded. Moving it back shouldn't make a big difference to kickers, but it DOES frick up fakes.

And the OT rules change after the Saints beat Favre, that sucks too. Go back to sudden death.

nope, it’s too easy to win with a field goal

Honestly it should be a race to 5 points

NFL has been far less ticky-tack than the last decade.

Yet you watched back to back games close enough to notice all the penalties.

I actually think penalties have mostly been better this year but I still believe 90% of the awful calls could be easily fixed if they just let coaches challenge them and actually enforced the correct call upon review.

How often did teams run fake PATs?

You’re admitting your bitch arse isn’t a regular anymore so how would you know about the flags this year?

They’re down by the way, as has been noted.
