Healthy versions of: Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Booker, Steph, Durant, Embiid, Tatum, Kawhi, LeBron, AD, Dame, Jimmy B all have arguments to being equal or greater than healthy Zion (we still haven’t seen him in the playoffs)
I think Zion is definitely top 10-15 though. Definite All NBA guy.

I mean yeah, it’s a subjective thing. I assume by your ranking you wouldn’t look at someone else saying he’s top 5 as necessarily wrong though right?
I think that was more my rationale. He’s definitely in the conversation of the best players in the league, so to see someone flat out disagree with top 5 seemed like someone saying otherwise.
Throw in the youth and it makes him more valuable, toss in the injuries and it’s significantly less

I do not see how this is possible. Ever since he was drafted, experts have stated that he needed to rebuild his body. If he didn't, he would be injury prone and have a limited career. That is exactly what has happened. He has not done what is necessary for him to play a long period of time. It really is that simple.
This is not he needs to lose 10-15 pounds. He needs to reconstruct his body. I don't see him having any interest in doing that. At this point, he is damaged goods. I'm comfortable with the team taking a loss to move him. I just don't see him succeeding with his current habits..

I mean, when he plays he fills up the stat sheet. But he don't play much. But then again Ingram misses 30+ games a year the last two years as well.

Six months ago he was an MVP candidate.
A hamstring and a few his didn’t change that.
I’d be pissed if we got No. 3 and that’s it.

I’ve wanted him gone for the last 2 years. So yeah. Ship him off for literally anything you can get for him. I think he’ll end up on some team with a chip on his shoulder and will play lights out. It’s gonna suck to watch but he’s worthless on this roster. He needs a new start somewhere and the Pels need roster help.

most actual pels fans hope he stays healthy and happy and plays 60 games averaging 27 7 4.5.
I however am done and would run him in summer league to set value and make a deal for 2 unprotected firsts and a starter under 27 yrs old who can shoot jumpers.

This is a difficult one. Zion’s trade value is never going to be as high as it is now without the team not wanting to trade him. Just based on probabilities, I think I lean towards trading him.
Option 1) Keep Zion and he stays injured, is a bust and has no trade value. BAD
Option 2) Keep Zion, he gets his shite together and wins you a championship. GREAT
Option 3) Keep Zion for another year or so and looses all trade value and trade him for an expiring. BAD
Option 4) Trade Zion’s for a rookie, Zion gets his shite together, rookie is a bust. TERRIBLE
OPTION 5) Trade Zion for a rookie, and both players go on to be great. GOOD
Option 6) Trade Zion for a rookie, Zion stays injured and goes Greg Oden. Rookie becomes just a guy. GOOD

You're missing another option where you trade Zion, and he never gets his shite together and the rookie you draft ends up being very good.

I was just waiting for the "you don't know basketball" argument. Of course you would be the one posting it. What a shock.
Big market. Small market. Whatever. You can't keep making excuses for your biggest asset just fricking around and not playing. Zion is not going to be the guy here and deep down, everyone knows it. Everyone has been knowing it. This is not new information.
He doesn't want to be here and he never really has. As soon as you could sense that, and you could sense he had no intentions of becoming the player you want him to be, you gotta cut bait.
Pels are close. In some world where Zion is completely onboard and crushing it, we've hit the championship level zenith. But that's not the world we're in now. Unload him and get someone on the roster that fortifies everything else Griff has built here NOT named Zion.

As someone who's kept up with the pelicans pretty closely for several years, I think the problem with Zion is the opposite of him not wanting to play basketball. Imo, he loves playing basketball, so much so that he doesn't have any other constructive hobbies. So when the injury lingered and his frustrations grew, he got depressed and developed really bad coping habits.
No way of knowing either for sure though. You could well be right, just not how I've viewed the situation
