Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff took the stage early Tuesday morning at Pac-12 Media Day in Los Angeles, California to publicly address the public for the first time. Kliavkoff covered an array of topics including COVID-19 vaccinations, NIL opportunities, Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC, a CFB Playoff expansion and a possible Pac-12 expansion.

No. 2 - Kliavkoff on Texas and Oklahoma's move to the SEC conference

"We believe the move by Texas and Oklahoma strengthens our unique position as the only Power 5 conference with teams in the Mountain and Pacific time zones.”

No. 3 - Kliavkoff on possible Pac-12 expansion

Kliavkoff said the Pac-12 does not believe an expansion is required. However, he admitted that the league has received interest from others in joining the conference.

No. 4 - Kliavkoff on possible Pac-12 Network distribution

"I wish distribution was better," said Kliavkoff.

No. 5 - Kliavkoff on the priority of the Pac-12 conference

"I want to be 100 percent clear that going forward, the Pac-12 will make all it's decisions in football."

He's going to be flying solo then. Everything the Pac 12 has done over the last 10 years or so has been showing that they want to deemphasize football.

The Pac 12 and B10 leadership combined has to be some of the worst business leaders in the country. Neither have vision or balls

An incredible non-answer, who gives a flying f**k what time zone you're playing in when the product on the field is trash?

If the PAC 12’s top priority is football, they are apparently doing it wrong.

They have been an afterthought for most of the playoff era because Oregon declined.

To look on the bright side for them, no ones coming for their teams, and they have easy ways to get to 16 without raiding any other conferences.

Larry Scott (old pac-12 commish) fricked up the rollout of the pac-12 network by wanting to negotiate every deal with every cable provider separately instead of partnering with an established cable network like the SEC did with ESPN. This led to the pac-12 network being unavailable in many cable packages and has led to it not even coming close to its potential. They need to partner with an established cable tv network to increase distribution and thus increase revenue for the network.

He's probably talking about the conference money. Big and SEC are about to leave them in the dust.

Sure. But who is going to make them better either financially or on the field? Even Boise St. has fallen off from where they were in the mid-2000's. And no other team other than BYU will increase the conference share.

What was he supposed to say? He’s been in the job like a month.

Hopefully by “make decisions in football” he means they will add teams that make football sense, and not restrict potential new schools based on academics or religious affiliation.

BYU should’ve been added before Utah, and they could potentially add UNLV to get into the Vegas market. Those would both move the needle.

Or would they consider adding Baylor or TCU to get into Texas?

No dumbass. The move by Texas and Oklahoma means there is nothing left that would add more to your conference. The best you can hope for is to break even.

And I wish he added:

"And USC is our #1 brand, we're requiring USC to fire Lynn Swann and Clay Helton."

"Also Oregon will be required to distribute all that Nike money to every member school."
