But do they really? The Kardashians, Boy bands, Nickelback, Dane Cook, on and on. The evidence would suggest that media whores with hype over substance are pretty damn popular.
They are polarizing, just like Deion. People love the Kardashians. But just as many people hate them. People hate Nickelback, but they have also sold over 50 million albums.

as a white man I recognize this, a bunch of self-righteous soft white men melting over Deion. One of the greatest athletes in American history who jumped into coaching, yeah he probably doesn’t know what he is doing, but he’s been around the best, like Bobby Bowden and Jimmy Johnson among others. I swear in America, if you get any publicity from the media, you better go 100-0 cause the soft people will come out the woodwork.
Man shut the frick up you sound like the bitch here. This has nothing to do with race. It has all to do with the media and all of hollow trying to appoint prime as the next coming of Saban. And all the flashy shite like having lil Wayne there rapping and all. For 3-4 solid weeks that all you would hear about on any sports show. So yeah people will fire back when the team is actually garbage and prime is not saban. Stop bringing race into everything and your life as a soy boy “ white”man would be a lot better.

This has to have been written by an AI designed to talk like an actual vagina.

Another Deon thread. You guys are obsessed with him.

The problem is that a bunch of people outside sports, for reasons unconnected to sports … that’s as far as I will go … got enormously, stupendously, unacceptably ahead of their skis with this thing, angering and disgusting the people who prioritize the reasons actually connected to sports and setting up reactions like this.
I was a booster of the guy to start with. Not so much now because the thing has fallen apart, not because of a tough schedule or a lack of talent but because the team is not being prepared or coached like it was at the start and that isn’t acceptable.
I am willing to grant and acknowledge the improvement and I am willing to give him another year before I call it a failure, but I am beginning to have my doubts. And the main reason is because of something a Black writer from Deadspin who you would think would be a big booster but has been on Deion’s case since Day 1 and has pretty much written him off said.
A college football coach must have a personality on both offense and defense, even if it changes a bit along the way. Deion still hasn’t answered that question, or showed that he has a coaching personality, and the world hasn’t changed that much and the influencer crap hasn’t become important enough to negate the set in stone reality that a coach must answer that question to be successful.

What does your wife’s boyfriend think of Deon?

It's undeniable that he improved the team. I mean go back and look at the record from last season. They were 1-11. They lost most of their games by 30-40 points. The team was utter trash.
Now, the team is slightly above trash. They have been competitive in all of their games except Oregon and Wazzu. Oregon is a top 5 team in the country, that loss is completely understandable. Wazzu is inexplicable, however. Deion had the flu reportedly, and apparently the rest of the coaching staff and the entire roster did as well with how they played.
Deion is just ok. He is right where you would expect a first year HC at a terrible football program to be. Next year, however, expectations will definitely shoot up to about 6-7 wins.

He improved the team over last year, but he essentially did exactly “average” for what Colorado has been over the last 20 years.

That was kind of my whole point. He has done an average job as a HC thus far.

We had posters claiming the site was littered with nazi stormfront posters and any criticism of Sanders was because the board was super racist.
Well this is true and Colorado sucks. Two things can be true at the same time.

Colorado is the new Dallas Cowboys. All the prime time slots with nothing to show for it

I think this was predictable, but he sure didn't help himself with that press conference after the TCU win.

About the same they'd say about the "Urban Cowboys" back in the day-------"All hat, no cattle".
That always made me chuckle.

100% correct, though they will not admit it.

Deion has done literally nothing.
Well I beg to differ. You see in all those years you mention Colorado won the same amount of games. Ask yourself, did you pay attention to them then? So in that essence alone, he has done MORE than the previous 3 coaches before him and that is his program is being TALKED ABOUT.

I will say they were fun to watch at the start of the year. But that horrible loss to a real bad Stanford team was like wow.
