I can’t say enough about our pitching staff tonight. They not only shut down a very powerful Dodger lineup but they did it with absolutely no help from a home plate ump that clearly favored the LA pitching staff.

I don’t thing I’ve ever seen such a discrepancy in pitch calls between two teams ever. The maybin strikeout was outrageous and even Morton, who wasn’t even gonna swing, got screwed on strike 3. For the Dodgers it was like, “anhh close enough”. For the Astros it was “No, you’re going to have to bring that pitch MORE over the plate”.

Frustrating.

There's a lot of Houstonians that live in Dallas and business connections. Then the state pride- nothing wrong with it.

Baws-

I plan on reveling in this for a very long time so I don’t want to come across as not enjoying the moment, but I would like to request the honors of starting the offseason thread again as I did last year. I’ll wait and start it in a week or so once things kinda die down.

Perhaps someone can start a DAT Celebration Thread where we can discuss things from these playoffs as well as the parade, etc since I know mods will probably wanna anchor this

I would put money on Carlos Beltran as bench coach for us next season. Beltran has shown an obvious interest in coaching and it's just as obvious what his effect was on the younger guys on this team. I think he would be a perfect replacement for Alex Cora, not to mention we lost our hitting coach.

Beltran and McCann were huge gets from a leadership perspective imo. Both had played in some meaningful games in their careers.

I hope the brilliant job Hinch did managing that game won’t go under the radar. It was a masterpiece

Compared to what Roberts did

McCullers and Morton really came through this postseason

It’s insane how well that Morton deal worked out. I remember a good amount of us were caught way off guard when he signed, but knew that Luhnow’s arguably biggest strength is getting diamonds in the rough

I also melted so hard when Peacock made the opening day roster. Him adding a slider to his game was career changing

I'm curious to see where they go from here. Springer, Correa, Altuve, Marwin, etc should all have contracts coming up over the next 3 years.

McCann will need to be replaced with Reddick. Can they keep it together, will they increase payroll when the time is needed, etc.

The only thing that would have made it more sweet - winning it at home for the fans. That would have been an event to be cherished for the hardcore Houston faithful. There is always a lot of relieved pent up frustration from life long fans when you finally win.

Saints fans know all about that.

In case you missed it, World Champion Houston Astros will have a parade starting at 2 p.m. Friday in downtown Houston ending with a celebration at City Hall.
