At best Ohio state probably wasn’t getting him back till Bowl/playoff season, so it’s not really a big surprise. Can’t risk another injury or coming back too fast to forgo a big NFL paycheck. Two anticlimactic endings for the Bosa’s at Ohio State. Nick with an injury, and Joey’s on a targeting call.

He has a torn lower abdominal muscle. The recovery time is 6 weeks to 6 months.

He was just evaluated yesterday so most likely they think it will closer to the 6 month trajectory.

I dont fault him at all. He's been a great teammate for 3 years, has been on the sideline every game since it happened. Clearly he's better off rehabbing all day with world class physical therapists rather than sitting in class.

Thanks for the memories Nick. What a dominant player.

don't blame him at all - if I was guaranteed 1st round pick I'd probably fake an injury all year just so I'm not a talking point on "quitting on your teammates"

And who gives a frick what people say - you're one injury away from blowing generational wealth.

I believe the last pick in the 1st round gets somewhere in the neighborhood of $5m signing bonus...

Except in Bosa's case he already has generational wealth. That is why I said it is intriguing.

I've read he's nowhere near healthy enough to come back.

A lot of people are jumping to conclusions. His chances of coming back were slim.

What were his rehab choices?

Could he have chosen a more aggressive approach, but increased his chances of re-injury?
Is it the type of surgery and rehab that the best approach is not to push it?

Some injuries take time to heal. I have no problem with guys opting to take the best approach to fully healing when there is any kind of legitimate risk to further injury if the come back too soon.

His groin injury was described as “not looking good” to me by someone directly involved in his care. Him coming back was basically just a dream for fans.

His old man (who was a bust for the Dolphins) opened up a strip club in Palm Beach County that folded. I think the whole family are meatheads.

We're talking about draft eligible players. No ones lining up to pick JT daniels
But why only draft eligible players? And I disagree about Daniels. Dude is already better than Darnold.

I know its anecdotal but I did sit behind the 3 of them at church on some random Sunday back when Joey was still at OSU and Nick was still in HS.

On the other hand, this makes me think less of him as a competitor and teammate.
It makes me think he is placing being a great NFL player as his very top priority in his life, so I'd argue quite the opposite.

Well he did quit on his teammates.

Now, I understand why he did, and I'm sure his teammates understand as well.

No one is going to hold it against him, especially his buckeye teammates. Sure he could try to make a comeback this season, but why risk an even worse injury when you have millions of dollars waiting for you in the coming year?
So he is the only one of Ohio St roster with dreams of playing in the NFL?

He along with anyone else who does this is a shite teammate plain and simple.

I would think his teammates would be fine with it especially anyone else on the team that's projected to go pro. Why come back early and risk further injury and possibly lose out on millions of dollars.

Probably not coming back from injury.
Probably not going to class or half assing classes anyway

I don’t blame him one bit.

If he was healthy, yes. But he isn't healthy. He flew to New Jersey for an evaluation yesterday and apparently it wasn't great news regarding his progress.

So he's chosen to focus on getting healthy and ready for the next chapter of his life. Get over yourself. He made a good business decision.
